Tour Championship 2025: Full Breakdown, Best Bets and a +6600 Longshot to Watch
Once a 70-man postseason competition, the FedEx Cup field was cut down to 50 following the St. Jude Championship and finally to the prestigious field of 30 when the BMW Championship ended this past Sunday.
Scottie Scheffler heads to Atlanta in the No. 1 spot in the FedEx Cup standings. However, those standings are entirely irrelevant under the new format. Unlike in previous years, No. 30 has the same opportunity as No. 1 to lift the FedEx Cup trophy. Everyone starts with the same score at East Lake, and whoever wins the tournament also wins the cup.
2025 Tour Championship Golf Odds
Unsurprisingly, Scheffler is a massive favourite on the PGA golf odds board to triumph in Atlanta. The top-ranked player in the world captured two more major titles this season, and he is coming off a victory at the BMW Championship. Following a huge gap after Scheffler, Rory McIlroy comes in as the second choice ahead of Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Aberg, Russell Henley, and Viktor Hovland.

Tour Championship Best Bet: Rory McIlroy to win at +800 odds
As good as Scheffler is, he does not have any value at +165. Even though McIlroy is the second favorite ahead of everyone else, the value is there at +800. The Northern Irishman owns three victories this season and has recorded top-10 finishes in three of his last four starts. He is coming off a decent T12 showing at the BMW Championship.
McIlroy also has a history of success at East Lake. He has won the tournament and the FedEx Cup three times, most recently in 2022. The current No. 2 player in the world has been outside the top 10 at the Tour Championship only once since 2015, and I love his chances this week.
Tour Championship Prediction: Collin Morikawa to win at +2800 odds
Morikawa has by no means been spectacular during these FedEx Cup Playoffs, but he has at least improved since missing cuts across the pond at the Scottish Open and British Open. The seventh-ranked American was T22 at the St. Jude Championship and T33 at the BMW Championship.
What you have to like about Morikawa this week is that East Lake is one of his favorite tracks. He shot a -22 in his four rounds last year, which was the best in the entire field (Scheffler started at 10-under, so his 20-under effort was good enough to win). Morikawa tied for sixth in 2023 after coming out blazing hot, 15-under through two rounds.
Tour Championship Longshot Pick: Sungjae Im to win at +6600 odds
Speaking of horses for courses, Im absolutely loves life in Atlanta. He placed seventh 12 months ago and was runner-up at the Tour Championship in 2022. To say that he knows what he’s doing around East Lake would be a gross understatement.
Indeed, Im hasn’t been playing great of late. The world No. 29 has not produced a top-10 finish since April at Harbour Town. Still, he seems to become a different player at the Tour Championship and it could happen again.
