The 2026 RBC Canadian Open Predictions: PGA Tour Betting Odds
The favourite on the RBC Canadian Open golf odds is England’s Tommy Fleetwood.
Some players simply don’t like playing the week before a major championship so that’s why world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Rory McIlroy, a two-time winner of the event (2019 & ’22), and No. 3 Cameron Young are skipping to prepare for the U.S. Open at extremely tough Shinnecock Hills in New York state.
Four of the world’s Top 10 are playing led by No. 4 Matt Fitzpatrick of England, and the field got a boost on Friday when seven-time Tour winner Viktor Hovland committed for his first-ever appearance in the tournament. Hovland is +3300 to win and hasn’t this year with a single Top 10. There are 11 total major winners represented in the 147-man field led by five-time major winner Brooks Koepka (+2500) as he plays the event for the first time since 2019.
There is an 18-player Canadian contingent topped by 2023 winner Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C. In addition, legendary Mike Weir, the former Masters champion, will tee it up in his 33rd career start at Canada’s national championship, second most behind fellow Canadian Golf Hall of Famer George Cumming (35). Weir is +100000 to win as is Ashton McCulloch in his pro debut.
TPC Toronto’s North Course at Osprey Valley in Caledon, a par 70 at 7,390 yards, hosts for the second year in a row with Taylor one of six past Canadian Open winners teeing it up, including 2025 winner Ryan Fox. The relative unknown New Zealander and American Sam Burns finished 72 holes at 18-under 262. Fox sealed his second career Tour victory with a spectacular 3-wood approach to 7 feet on the fourth extra hole. He was able to tap in for birdie, while Burns was unable to do the same after pulling his 3-wood some approach 55 feet left of the front right pin.
They played the 18th all four times in the playoff, and Tour officials moved the pin position from far left to front right after two extra holes. Burns was my pick to win last year at +2500. The last repeat winner at the Canadian Open was unofficially McIlroy in 2022 because there was no event in 2020 and ’21 due to COVID following his 2019 victory. But the last player to win the tournament back-to-back years was Venezuela’s Jhonattan Vegas – both played at Glen Abbey in Oakville. Fox is a +4500 longer shot this week and has as single Top 10 in 2026.
Americans win the majority of events on the PGA Tour annually, but just one U.S. player has won this since 2014 and that was current LIV golfer Dustin Johnson in 2018. The last time there were back-to-back playoffs in the Canadian Open was three in a row from 2002-04.
The RBC Canadian Open Golf Odds
Tommy Fleetwood is +1150 to join Peter Oosterhuis in 1981 at Glen Abbey as the only players from England to win this tournament; Fleetwood didn’t play at TPC Toronto last year but has a fourth and fifth in two of his past three Tour events this year.
Another Englishman, Matt Fitzpatrick, is +1200 and looks for his fourth win of the year, although he hasn’t been better than 14th in his past three 2026 events. He didn’t play here in 2025. Sam Burns (+1500), Collin Morikawa (+2200) and Wyndham Clark (+2200) round out the favourites.
Burns had that playoff loss last year and comes off a fourth at the Memorial on Sunday. Morikawa hasn’t played much or that well of late battling injury and plays this event for the first time 2019. Clark is playing well recently, having won in Texas at the Byron Nelson and then a third Sunday in Ohio.
As noted above, Nick Taylor in 2023 is the last Canadian winner of the event and has the shortest odds this year among at +4000. He was 13th last year and comes off a 43rd at the Memorial. Other notables from Canada: Taylor Pendrith (+5500), Corey Conners (+6000). Sudarshan Yellamaraju (+7000), Mackenzie Hughes (+10000), AJ Ewart (+15000) and Adam Hadwin (+35000).
The RBC Canadian Open Golf Predictions
Since Americans rarely win the event, will take England’s Justin Rose at +2500. He has been 12th and 10th his past two events this year and looks back in early-season form when he had a win. He has three career Top 10s at the Canadian Open but missed the 2025 cut.
