The 2026 Masters: PGA Tour Betting Odds, Predictions
The greatest theatre in golf returns this week as the world’s best players convene at Augusta National in Georgia for the 90th Masters, the first Grand Slam event annually on the PGA Tour (and DP World Tour). Per usual, world No. 1 and former champion Scottie Scheffler is favoured on the golf odds.
Unfortunately, we start with whom is not here yet again: Tiger Woods. The five-time winner of the green jacket last played the Masters in 2024 due to injuries. There was speculation he would return this year after recently competing in that TGL simulated golf league he helped found with Rory McIlroy. But any shot of Tiger playing ended last week when he had yet another off-course issue involving driving while impaired. Not sure if we see the 50-year-old on Tour ever again as he seeks treatment.
And in a double-whammy, three-time champion Phil Mickelson also is skipping because of a family matter. Most casual golf fans only get to see the 55-year-old Lefty in the majors because he’s with LIV Golf. Mickelson is behind only Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan with his 16 Top 10s at the Masters and was a runner-up as recently as 2023. It will be the first time since 1994 Tiger and Phil both miss.
There was quite a bit of drama at the 2025 Masters as McIlroy joined Tiger, Jack Nicklaus, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan and Gary Player as the only players to complete the career Grand Slam. Northern Ireland’s McIlroy, who had come close so many times previously at Augusta, and England’s Justin Rose both finished 72 holes at 11-under 277 for the first Masters playoff since 2017.
McIlroy bogeyed his 72nd hole to fall into the playoff and it looked like more heartbreak, but he then birdied the first playoff hole, also No. 18, to beat Rose – who missed his longer birdie try first. It was McIlroy’s 11th attempt at finishing the career Grand Slam, most among those who have done it.
Rose, who ironically enough also competed in that 2017 playoff in losing to Spain’s Sergio Garcia, was six strokes behind McIlroy through the 10th hole, but chased him down capped by a 20-foot birdie putt on his 72nd hole. The last time there was a playoff in back-to-back years at Augusta was in 2012 (Bubba Watson won) and 2013 (Adam Scott).
The record for most players competing in the Masters a first time is 26 in 2020, that infamous November event due to COVID. We have 22 this year with six of those amateurs. There are 10 guys teeing it up from LIV Golf as well. Five of them are past champions, combining for six green jackets. At least two LIV Golf players have finished in the Top 10 here each of the previous three years.
There are 91 total players in this year’s field. Augusta National is a par 72 at approximately 7,565 yards. The 17th hole is 10 yards longer this year after the tee box was moved back.
In addition to the green jacket, the winner also receives a trophy that is a replica of the Augusta National clubhouse and a gold medal.
The Masters Golf Odds
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is a two-time champion who looks to become the ninth players with three wins at Augusta and is the +480 favourite. Scheffler won his first tournament of the year but not since and hasn’t teed it up since a T22 at the Players Championship a handful of weeks ago because Scheffler and his wife recently welcomed a second son. His round average of 70.33 in this tournament is best of anyone in the field.
LIV golfer Jon Rahm was the 2023 champion and is a +950 second-favourite. He is having an excellent year on that tour with a win and three runners-up. In addition to his win here, he has four other Top 10s. Fellow LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau and defending champion Rory McIlroy are each +1300. DeChambeau enters off consecutive wins in LIV and tied fifth at Augusta in 2025 for his best result.
McIlroy has been dealing with some back problems and has played just four times on the PGA Tour this year with one Top 10 and one WD after two rounds. He was also a runner-up at the Masters in 2022. Xander Schauffele (+1500) and Ludvig Aberg are the only other golfers below +2000 as each looks for his first green jacket. Schauffele has come close a few times and has three straight Top 10s at Augusta. Aberg enters with three straight Top 5s on the Tour and has been Top 7 in the past two years at the Masters.
Mike Weir is the lone Canadian to win this tournament (rare lefty to capture the Masters), doing so in a 2003 playoff over Len Mattiace. George Knudson was one of three runners-up to George Archer in 1969. Corey Conners was the top finisher last year at T8, while Nick Taylor was T40. Weir and Taylor Pendrith missed the cut. Conners is +10,000 this week with Taylor +22,500 and the 55-year-old Weir among the longest shots on the board at +100,000.
The Masters Golf Predictions
Ludvig Aberg (+1600) is one of the most talented active guys without a major title, but that ends Sunday. No Swede has won the green jacket previously.
