Texas Children’s Houston Open: 2026 PGA Tour Golf Betting Odds
Not many of the world’s top guys are playing, but world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is and a typically big favourite on the golf odds.
I expected more Top 20 world guys to play this week and then skip next week’s Valero Texas Open ahead of the Masters, but Scheffler is one of just four in the field with No. 10 Chris Gotterup, No. 16 Ben Griffin and No. 20 Harris English. Guys like to prepare for majors differently. England’s Matt Fitzpatrick, Sunday’s winner at the Valspar Championship, is among those skipping. Trey Mullinax, Bronson Burgoon, Cole Hammer and Mason Howell received sponsor invites.
For a while, this was played the week before the Masters, and they tried to set up the course as close as possible to Augusta National but no longer really the case. Memorial Park is a rare municipal park on the PGA Tour schedule that plays to par 70 at 7,475 yards. The layout features the fewest bunkers on Tour, so it suits those long bombers off the tee who don’t worry so much about accuracy. In an unusual twist, it also will host The Chevron Championship, the first major of the year on the LPGA Tour in April.
The defending champion is Aussie Min Woo Lee, who shot 20-under 260 to finish a stroke up on Americans Scheffler and Gary Woodland (one of those bombers off the tee).
Lee, a big hitter, joined seven other players in Tour history to make the Houston Open their first career win. Lee’s total broke the tournament record by four shots even though there was some weather in 2025. He led by five shots on the back nine until Woodland, who played his last four holes in 4-under par to tie the course record with a 62, began his charge.

Can I bet on Scottie Scheffler to finish second? He’s +350 to win on the PGA Tour golf odds but has finished runner-up in the tournament three times in the past four years and hasn’t won in Houston yet. In the fourth? Ninth. Scheffler has looked very mortal this year with three straight finishes outside the Top 10.
Defending champion Min Woo Lee is +1800. The Aussie hasn’t won since but isn’t having a bad year with two Top 10s, including a runner-up at Pebble Beach. The last repeat winner of this tournament was Vijay Singh in 2005. Breakout star Chris Gotterup, with two wins already this year, is +2000. His best result in two visits to this event was 18th last year.
Jake Knapp (+2200), Sam Burns (+2700) and Brooks Koepka (+2700) round out the favourites. None have won the tournament. Knapp has a best of 27th, Burns has a couple of sevenths and Kopeka plays here for the first time since a missed cut in 2021.
No Canadian has won this tournament, which dates to 1946. Taylor Pendrith shot up the leaderboard to a T5 last year with a final-round 65. Mackenzie Hughes finished 10th, Adam Hadwin T39 and Adam Svensson T67. Ben Silverman and Nick Taylor missed the cut. Pendrith is +5500 this week with Hughes +10000, AJ Ewart +22500 and Svensson +75000.
Texas Children’s Houston Open Golf Predictions
Hard not to like Scottie Scheffler against a bit of a weaker field, but we will simply never recommend a golfer at +350 unless it’s match play. We will try a +17500 longshot in Alejandro Tosti. The Argentine hasn’t won on Tour but has been second and fifth in this tournament.
