Strong Golf Betting Field at BMW PGA at Wentworth!

The great British golf courses are seaside links, of course, but Wentworth is unusual in its being a parkland course. It was built in 1927, updated by Ernie Els (who won seven World Matchplays at Wentworth) four years ago and is one of the great courses in World Golf.

Players love coming to Wentworth and that may explain why the field this weekend is so strong. An astonishing seven of the top ten players in the world will play this weekend in the rolling hills of Surrey, and the contest for the title also has a subtext in the battle for the No 1 spot in the World rankings between Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Martin Kaymer.

The Els revisions to the course have stiffened Wentworth’s challenge and some of the really high priced golf betting winners we’ve seen on some PGA Tour events are less like this weekend at Wentworth. But it’s still a great golf betting contest and so, without further ado, here are Sports Interaction’s

Martin Kaymer (+1400). Kaymer lost form when he blew up at the Masters eight weeks ago but he’s showing signs of life again. Of the top three, he’s the best value price.

Paul Casey (+3000). Casey won the BMW PGA at Wentworth in 2009. He’s not playing well currently but talent can only be foiled for so long.

Justin Rose (+3000). Rose is another man who’s playing below his talent level. But he’s had two top five finishes so far this year and was tied 11^th at the Masters.

Darren Clarke (+8000). Clarke is one of the great players of the past decade but family bereavement meant he had more on his mind than golf in recent years. However, Clarke’s win at the Iberdrola Open in Majorca two weeks suggest he’s ready to challenge for the highest honours again.
