PGA Unveils 2024 Schedule, Canadian Open Starts in May

In 2024 the PGA will operate with a calendar year season. The biggest change for Canadian golf fans is that the beloved RBC Canadian Open shifts months for the first time ever, as it will begin on May 27 and conclude on June 2.

While we’re at it, check out our PGA odds.

PGA’s Canadian Open Starts in May 2024

While this doesn’t sound like too big a deal, the reality is that the re-shuffling of events puts the RBC Canadian Open between two majors. The PGA Championship runs from May 13 to 19 and the U.S. Open from June 10 to 16. There is a Signature Event in the week immediately following the RBC Open as well.

As such, some big names may opt out of the event held at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club. This would be akin to several ATP stars skipping the National Bank Open in August because the U.S. Open looms on the horizon in early September.

Winnipeg native Nick Taylor won the most recent edition of the Canadian Open, making him the first Canadian player to do so in 69 years – Pat Fletcher completed the task in 1954. Fellow Canadians Mackenzie Hughes, Adam Svensson and Corey Conners have also won events on the tour this year.
