2023 British Grand Prix Predictions: Formula 1 Betting Odds

Lewis Hamilton vies for a record ninth career win at this event while pegged as a +1100 bet on the British Grand Prix odds while his Mercedes teammate and fellow Englishman George Russell aims to overcome a disappointing track record at this race while listed as a lengthy +2300 wager. Fresh off his best performance of the season last week in Austria, Lando Norris sits well off the pace at +10200 despite finishing among the top six in each of his past two appearance in this race.   

British Grand Prix Race Time, Weather Forecast

Lights out at the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix is scheduled for 10:00am ET on Sunday morning at Silverstone Circuit. Rain and seasonal temperatures are forecast throughout the weekend including during Saturday qualifying and at race time on Sunday.

Verstappen Gunning for Sixth Straight Win

While Hamilton, Russell, and Norris will enjoy the support of hometown fans, all eyes will be on Max Verstappen as he looks to extend his current win streak to six races. The two-time defending champion rolled to an easy victory last weekend in Austria while also claiming pole position and fastest lap for the third time in as many outings.

Not surprisingly, Verstappen leads the way as a massive -333 favourite to pick up his eight win of the campaign and extend his lead atop the F1 Drivers Standings, which currently sits at a lofty 81 points over second-place Sergio Perez. However, he will have to overcome some tough luck that has denied him previous success at this event including a seventh-place finish a year ago.

Rivals Try to Keep Pace with the Red Bulls

While Verstappen’s past woes at Silverstone may hearten rivals looking to cut into his massive lead, fading the two-time defending F1 champ on the British Grand Prix is not for the squeamish.

Historically, Lewis Hamilton has dominated at Silverstone, claiming the checkered flag in seven of the past nine years. However, with Mercedes struggling to keep pace with Red Bull, Hamilton has failed to earn a win since late in the 2021 season. However, he has benefited from recent technical upgrades, reaching the podium in two of three outings, and should not be overlooked as a +100 bet to tally his ninth straight podium finish at Silverstone.

Lando Norris fell just short a trip to the podium in Austria, with his fourth-place performance marking just the fourth time he has picked up points so far this season. Like Hamilton, it may be too much to expect from Norris to outpace the Red Bulls. However, both he and McLaren should continue to benefit from upgrades that provided Norris with a noticeable spark last weekend. A good qualifying run will be key to Norris’ success this weekend. However, the Bristol UK native is likely underpriced as a +150 bet to crack the top six, while he and McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri offer intriguing value as a +275 bet to produce a double points finish.
