Tiger-Cats vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 8 Point Spread, Odds
The Ti-Cats travel to the west coast on a high after tallying a decisive 30-15 win in Ottawa last week, and have now limited opponents to 20 or fewer points three times during their 4-0-0 run. The Lions ride a two-game home losing streak after falling last week to Saskatchewan by a 33-27 margin and have also lost two of their past three home dates with CFL East opponents.
The Lions get set to hit the gridiron on Sunday night perched as 2.5-point home favourites. The Tiger-Cats trail as +130 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is pegged at 55.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
Sunday night’s matchup marks the first of two meetings between these clubs over the next three weeks. The road team has enjoyed consistent success in recent dates between these squads, winning each of their past four meetings, capped by the Ti-Cats’ 32-29 win in BC in September 2024. However, it has been all Hamilton at the sportsbook, with the Tiger-Cats going 4-1-1 against the spread in their past six versus BC including ATS wins in their past three visits to BC Place. The Tiger-Cats have also steadily emerged as a reliable bet during their 4-0-0 run, covering three times including a pair of road victories in which they claimed victory by an average margin of 14 points. A boost in scoring has been welcomed by the Lions, who have averaged 26.7 points per game during their current 2-1-0 run. Overall, BC has also racked up a respectable 26.7 points per game over their past six home dates but have been rocked for 30 points per game in their past two.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats
After a brutal start to the season, the Ti-Cats have made an impressive turnaround that has placed them at the centre of the Grey Cup conversation. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has played a huge role in the team’s reversal of fortune. After tossing for 327 yards and one touchdown in last week’s win over Ottawa, Mitchell enters Week 8 leading the CFL with 12 TD passes and 1812 passing yards, making him the early favourite to claim Most Outstanding Player honours this season. Running back Johnny Augustine is also coming off a breakthrough performance, running for 85 yards last week. However, Hamilton’s ground game still needs work, ranking ahead of only the bottom-feeding Toronto Argonauts with just 73.5 rushing yards per game.
BC Lions
Speaking of early favourites to take home CF L awards this season, Nathan Rourke has emerged as the frontrunner to claim this season’s Most Outstanding Canadian award. The Victoria BC native is coming off an impressive performance in last week’s 33-27 loss to Saskatchewan, tossing for three scores and 337 yards and has now tallied five TDs and an average of 341 passing yards in the past two games. However, points after halftime have come at a premium for the Lions, who have averaged just 12 points in the second half over the past two games, with their two TDs in those contests coming during garbage time last week.
