Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts Prediction: CFL Week 18 Point Spread, Odds
It’s only a three-game schedule in Week 18 around the CFL, but the typical Saturday doubleheader. The matinee features East Division-leading Hamilton visiting third-place Toronto in their final matchup of the regular season.
The Ticats are -1.5 on the CFL odds with a total of 57.5 that is the week’s highest.
CFL Odds and Betting
Hamilton leads the East by a game over Montreal and is the only team in the division to have clinched a playoff spot so far. Winning the East seems all but done with a 5-1 mark inside the division. The Tiger-Cats swept the Alouettes in the regular season, so really it’s a two-game lead and there are only two weeks left in the regular season after this one, so you can do the math. Hamilton remains a +340 second-favourite for the Grey Cup behind West-leading Saskatchewan (+270), the only other team to have clinched a playoff spot. This is the Ticats’ road finale.
Toronto holds third in the East but is tied in the loss column (10) with fourth-place Ottawa, which has played one fewer game. Those teams split this season. The Argos finish at Saskatchewan and at Calgary. They are +2500 to repeat as Grey Cup champions.
Toronto looks to sweep the season series for the first time since 2023 as the Argos snapped a four-game skid to the Ticats with a 35-33 road win in Week 13. Hamilton was -4.5 and the total was 57.5. Dejon Brissett’s 63-yard catch to Hamilton’s 4-yard line with one second remaining set up Lirim Hajrullahu’s winning 11-yard field goal. Bo Levi Mitchell’s eight-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Lawler had at 14:42 had put Hamilton ahead 33-32, and the two-point conversion failed. Jake Herslow’s 34-yard kickoff return put Toronto at its 44-yard line with 12 seconds remaining. The Argos claimed only their third win in 11 Labour Day clashes at Hamilton Stadium.
Hamilton is still 4-1 ATS in the past five meetings. The over is 4-1 in those.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Ticats were short underdogs last Saturday at Winnipeg and got destroyed 40-3. The Blue Bombers returned the opening kickoff for a score and never let up. QB Zach Collaros returned from injury and threw for a season-high 367 yards for Winnipeg. Hamilton, which clinched a playoff spot on Friday in Week 17 when BC beat Toronto, got only 212 yards passing and zero TDs from Bo Levi Mitchell, but he still leads the league in passing yards (4,406) and TD throws (28).
A lone bright spot was Marc Liegghio tying a career high with a 55-yard field goal. He had missed 44-yard field-goal try earlier, snapping his CFL-leading streak of 21 straight makes. The Bombers finished with zero giveaways and punted only once.
This week, the Ticats released American linebacker Ray Wilborn. He started the first nine games of the regular season but was a healthy scratch for five of Hamilton’s last six games with rookie Kyler Fisher taking over the starting role.
Hamilton is 2-6 ATS in its past eight.
Toronto Argonauts
The Argos were +7.5 last week at B.C. and covered in a 27-22 loss as Toronto didn’t find the end zone until the fourth quarter and totalled only 28 yards rushing in its only visit to the West Coast this season.
The Lions finished with four sacks of Argos QB Nick Arbuckle, with two of those resulting in a fumble in their third straight win. Arbuckle returned from a one-game absence due to a calf injury. He finished 28-for-38 for 281 yards with a touchdown pass to Makai Polk and one interception.
Wideout Jake Herslow caught 10 passes for 104 yards. Kicker Lirim Hajrullahu was 5-for-5 on field goals with three of those coming from 50 yards out.
“We were beat up on the O-line and the receivers,” Toronto coach Ryan Dinwiddie said. “So I’m proud of their effort and their toughness.”
The Argos’ defence had three interceptions of Nathan Rourke. This is Toronto’s home finale. It is 4-2 ATS in its past six at home vs. Hamilton.
