Stampeders vs. Blue Bombers Prediction: CFL Week 12 Point Spread, Odds
Sitting atop the CFL standings, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will look to get back in the win column when they host the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday night. It’s likely felt like a longer bye week than usual for Winnipeg after suffering their first loss of the season, a 20-17 overtime defeat, to Montreal in Week 10. The Stampeders, on the other hand, came out of Toronto with a 22-19 victory last week.
The Blue Bombers are 5.5-point favourites to win on the CFL odds, with a total of 48.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
Winnipeg has taken both previous meetings between the teams this season, winning 26-19 at home in Week 6 and 35-28 in Calgary in Week 8. Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros combined to throw for six touchdowns and 585 yards with no interceptions in the two games. Bo Levi Mitchell was under centre for Calgary both games, passing for 406 yards with one touchdown and interception each.
The Stamps have struggled in Winnipeg, dropping their last five games in Manitoba. They’re much better at covering on the road, however, as they’re 4-1 against the spread outside of Calgary compared to 0-4 ATS at McMahon Stadium. The total has gone Over in six of Calgary’s nine games this season.
The Blue Bombers have been lethal at home, winning 14 of their last 15 games at IG Field. They’re 7-3 ATS overall this season, but just 2-2 ATS at home. The total has gone Under in all four of Winnipeg’s home games in 2022.

Calgary Stampeders
Safety Elie Bouka’s pick-six was the difference-maker for Calgary last week. Bouka returned a third-quarter interception 62 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the victory over Toronto. That touchdown allowed kicker Rene Paredes to nail two fourth-quarter field goals to secure the win. Shawn Bane led the receivers with 129 yards on four receptions. Peyton Logan ran in Calgary’s only offensive touchdown.
Mitchell struggled under centre last week. He completed just nine of 16 pass attempts for 149 yards and threw two interceptions before being benched at halftime in favour of Jake Maier. The Stamps’ backup QB completed 14 of 18 passes for 156 yards and one interception. Some are questioning if Maier should get the start Thursday in Winnipeg, but with Calgary only practicing once this week, on Tuesday, the team will likely rely on Mitchell. If it is Mitchell starting under centre, he’ll have a short leash.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Winnipeg’s Week 10 home loss against Montreal was frankly stunning. The Bombers still remain atop the CFL standings with a 9-1 record, but they fell one win short of tying the franchise record of 10 straight wins to start the season set in 1960. Whether it’s fair or not, a lot of the blame fell on kicker Marc Liegghio, who missed an ugly field goal attempt in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter and missed a second attempt that ended the game in overtime.
Collaros had another solid game last week, completing 21 of 27 pass attempts for 251 yards and a touchdown. Among quarterbacks with at least four games played, Collaros ranks third in the CFL in passing yards (2,455), second in passing TDs (18) and second in efficiency (106.6). Canadian QB Nathan Rourke leads all those categories (3,281 yards, 25 TDs, 125.1 efficiency).
