Odds and Bets: Dallas Wings vs Las Vegas Aces High Scoring Game
Dallas Wings vs Las Vegas Aces: Ride the Wings of Ogunbowale
It’s an intra-conference matchup between the first and second ranked clubs in the West on Wednesday night when the Dallas Wings visits the Las Vegas Aces. The only issue is that the discrepancy between the clubs demonstrates how much better the Aces are from everybody else in the league this year. The Aces are 15-1 and the Wings are 8-8.
Las Vegas’s only defeat on the season has been on the road, with the Aces hitting the jackpot at home courtesy of a 9-0 record. Going to the Vegas has been a dispiriting experience for road teams, with the Aces claiming victory by at least eight points every time, and usually by a lot more than that. We won’t play foolish games as to “who will win.” The Aces are heavy -15.0 favourites and fair enough. A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray, and Jackie Young will take care of their business. The intrigue is how will Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale fair. She’s second in the WNBA with 22.1 points per game. If she gets hot, the over can earn the spoils, and Dallas needs her today.
Best Bet: Over 175.0 total
Baltimore Orioles vs New York Yankees: Baltimore Avoids Blushes

On Monday we previewed this important divisional series between the Orioles and Yankees, believing that Baltimore would start on the right foot. They were doubled up 6-3. Then on Tuesday New York hammered them 8-4. For a team that’s been criticized for its lack of offensive production without Aaron Judge, the Yankees are having a whale of a time against Baltimore’s pitching.
This one is tricky. The Orioles send Dean Kremer to the mound. His win-loss record is great at 8-4. His ERA is bad at 5.04. When he wins, he throws very well. When he loses it’s a disaster. Baltimore has seen their lead over New York in the AL East shrink to two games because of what’s happened so far through in this series. A few things need to happen on Wednesday night. Number one, the Orioles want to avoid the sweep. Number two, they need one of Kremer’s better outings, especially with left fielder Austin Hays potentially out of the lineup again – he’s hitting .312 on the year.
Best Bet: Orioles on the moneyline
Edmonton Elks vs Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Edmonton Elks, by virtue of having played four matches and lost every time, is the worst team in the CFL. Hamilton is also winless but has played three times. Chris Jones’ men take to Regina to start Week 5 against the Roughriders, who themselves rested on Canada Day weekend. Their last bout was a thrilling overtime win in Calgary two weeks ago.
Saskatchewan is the x-factor in the CFL this year. Everyone knows how good the Blue Bombers, Argonauts, and Lions are. The Alouettes are decent but nothing special. What are the Roughriders? So far in 2023, they look rather good. Of note, they’ll be looking to win for the first time at home this year. One would think Edmonton will do its upmost to win this game, or at least keep it close. They’ve looked pitiful three weeks in a row. In light of that…
Best Bet: Elks with the +8.0 spread. Lose, but keep it close.
