Odds and Bets: Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions to Play a Close Game
Calgary Stampeders vs BC Lions
The Calgary Stampeders (3-5) survived a visit from the Toronto Argonauts in Week 9 to get on a winning track. In Week 10, they’ll try to build a successful streak when they travel westward to Vancouver where the Lions (6-2) await. The latter was most recently humbled by the Blue Bombers.
Good news out of the Lions’ den. QB Vernon Adams Jr., who missed the last two games, is expected to start on Saturday, even if he must wear a knee brace. His return to the starting lineup is welcomed, as the offence has been hit or miss with Dane Evans under centre. Calgary has been involved in some of the most thrilling games of the season so far, making them a team that fights until the bitter end.
Best Bet: Calgary Stampeders with the +6.0 spread
Houston Astros vs Baltimore Orioles

The Houston Astros (65-49) and Baltimore Orioles (70-43) continue their series in Maryland on Tuesday night. Baltimore received some shock treatment in the opener on Monday, as stud closer Felix Bautista gave up a grand slam in the ninth inning that turned a 6-3 lead into a 7-6 defeat. He hadn’t conceded any earned runs since July 11.
Cristian Javier (7-2, 4.39 ERA) takes to the mound for Houston in the second game, whereas Jack Flaherty (8-6, 4.28 ERA) does so for the home side. Houston is battling the Texas Rangers for first place in the AL West while the Orioles are hanging onto first in the East with a two-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. The home side played terrific baseball until the ninth inning. They should bounce back.
Best Bet: Baltimore Orioles on the moneyline
Spain vs Netherlands

The quarter-finals at the Women’s World Cup commence on Thursday evening (ET) when an impressive Spain side clashes with the Netherlands, who have been excellent so far and were runners-up four years ago. The only blemish on the Iberian-based team’s record was a 4-0 loss to Japan – Japan truly outclassed them – but otherwise, they’ve been great. They made minced meat of the Swiss in the Round of 16, winning 5-1.
The Netherlands put an end to South Africa’s surprise run in the previous knockout round, earning a 2-0 victory. They were also the side that planted the first seeds of doubt about the U.S.A.’s prospects by holding the Americans to a 1-1 draw in the second group stage match. Both sides love scoring. Jill Roord has four goals for the Oranje and three Spanish players have netted thrice: Jennifer Hermoso, Aitana Bonmati, and Alba Redondo. If anything will trip up Spain, it could be at the back.
Best Bet: Netherlands to win
