Zach Collaros injury
Collaros is dealing with a neck injury he sustained in Winnipeg’s loss to Saskatchewan in last week’s Banjo Bowl.
The 37-year-old left the game in the third quarter after Roughriders defender C.J. Reavis broke free from a blitz and delivered a hit with helmet-to-helmet contact. Reavis was charged with roughing the passer upon review.
Collaros, a two-time Most Outstanding Player winner, has thrown for 2,297 yards with 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 10 games this season, posting a 4-6 record.
Collaros out, Streveler in
Chris Streveler will start under centre for Winnipeg on Friday. He has two starts this season, both wins.
Streveler has proven to be a dual threat, throwing for 772 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions, while adding another 106 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Streveler’s mobility improves the Blue Bombers’ already dangerous ground attack alongside Brady Oliveira, who ranks fifth in the CFL with 657 rushing yards this season.
Winnipeg is looking to end a two-game losing skid that has dropped them to third in the West Division with a 6-6 record.
Hamilton is coming off a win and they currently lead the East Division with a 7-5 record.
The Blue Bombers swept last year’s season series against the Ti-Cats.
