Blue Bombers vs. Argonauts Prediction: CFL Week 8 Point Spread, Odds

The Argonauts return home after dropping a heartbreaking 26-25 decision last week in Montreal that leaves them battling the Ottawa RedBlacks for last place in the CFL East standings with a brutal 1-5-0 record. The Blue Bombers arrive in Toronto looking for answers after suffering lopsided defeats in both halves of a home-and-home series with Calgary, but have won six of seven on the road, dating back to last July.

The Blue Bombers lead the way as 4.5-point road favourites on the CFL Week 8 odds. The Argonauts trail as +190 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 52.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

Saturday night’s matchup marks the first meeting of the season between these squads, and their first clash since the Argos rolled to a decisive 41-24 victory over Winnipeg to win last season’s Grey Cup. Overall, Toronto has taken three straight from the Bombers while limiting Winnipeg to just 16.3 points per game and have covered the spread on seven occasions while winning six of nine head-to-head contests. The Argos swept last year’s season series with the Blue Bombers in low-scoring fashion, with the total failing to top 30 in their two regular season wins. However, Toronto has struggled to shut down opponents during their brutal start to the current campaign, surrendering a leaguer-worst 31.5 points per game overall and almost 40 points per game in their three home losses. Things have not gone much better for the Bombers, who were outscored by a 88-36 combined margin in their two recent losses to the Stampeders. That marks a huge step for the squad, which scored 32.3 points per game during a 3-0-0 start to the season.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Blue Bombers looked nothing like defending CFL West champions during their recent home-and-home versus the Stamps. The squad was thoroughly dominated by Calgary during the two-game set, in which they held a lead for a total of just over six minutes, and scoring just one touchdown outside garbage time in those contests. To add injury to insult, the Bombers also saw quarterback Zach Collaros leave early in last week’s crushing 41-20 after taking a shot to the head but is expected to be available for Saturday’s date in Toronto. It has been a tough start to the 2025 CFL campaign for the veteran pivot, who has connected on seven TD passes in four game appearances but has also tossed six picks including two in last week’s defeat. However, the squad will be without top offensive lineman Stanley Bryant, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Toronto Argonauts

The wait continues for Chad Kelly, who continues his recovery from a broken leg suffered a broken leg in last season’s CFL East Final. There were hopes the veteran quarterback would be ready to return this weekend but after Kelly missed practice this week, Argos coach Ryan Dinwiddie was forced to publicly admit that the team does not “have a clear handle on where he’s at physically”. With Kelly still on the shelf, the Double Blue will once again turn to Nick Arbuckle. Last year’s Grey Cup hero has been steady during the squad’s two-game slide, tossing for an average of 290.5 yards and four total touchdowns. However, the Argos need far more production out of their backfield after generating just 47 rushing yards per game over the past two games and just one scoring run after halftime over that stretch.
