Lions’ QB Vernon Adams Jr. to Start Against Stamps

Vernon Adams Jr. suffered a knee injury in a week 7 match versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders that took him out of the game and out of action ever since. Dane Evans had served as the number one quarterback, but then he got dinged in Week 9 against Winnipeg.

Adams Jr. may need to wear a brace, just as he has during practice. Even so, it won’t stop him from playing on Saturday if there are no further setbacks. At the time of writing, Evans is not completely ruled out, but BC isn’t banking on his participation. Dominique Davis is BC’s third-string QB.

The Lions (6-2) suffered a 50-14 loss to the Blue Bombers last week and host a Stampeders squad that has given most teams fits this season despite its 3-5 record.

In a little over six games this season, Vernon Adams Jr. has a 71.3 completion percentage (119-for-167), 1,548 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions. It should be noted that six of those INTs came in a nightmarish outing against the Argonauts. It was the only other game the Lions lost so far.
