2026 CFL Betting Odds and Week 16 Power Rankings: Elks overtake Alouettes for top spot
We have a new leader atop the CFL power rankings as the Edmonton Elks begin to outshine the Montreal Alouettes.
The West Division as a whole has impressed over the last few weeks and now every team but Calgary has a winning record on the year.

1. Edmonton Elks (2)
Record: 10-3
Week 15 result: W 53-16

The Elks just swept the Battle of Alberta, which was enough to become the first team not named Montreal to occupy top spot in the power rankings this season. Everything seems to be coming up Edmonton as they put up 50 points in a game for the first time since 2004 and clinched their first playoff berth in seven years. The only concern right now is the status of star running back Justin Rankin, who left Saturday’s win with an unknown injury.
2. Montreal Alouettes (1)
Record: 10-3
Week 15 result: L 48-29 @ BC
Week 16 opponent: @ HAM
Grey Cup odds: +170
For the first time this season the Alouettes have been dealt their share of adversity with two losses (Winnipeg and B.C.) in their last three games. The offence was quiet against the Lions, although the defence did its job, with Tyrice Beverette recording two sacks and a forced fumble. The home/road split are starting to be a little concerning as Montreal is a perfect 7-0 at Molson Stadium, but just 3-3 outside of Quebec.
3. B.C. Lions (3)
Record: 7-6
Week 15 result: W 48-29 vs. MTL
Week 16 opponent: Bye

B.C. remains in podium position on the power rankings list after a hugely impressive win against the Als. Nathan Rourke did his part, throwing for over 300 yards while going without an interception for just the second time this year. The Canadian pivot also rushed for a game-high 77 yards and a score on the ground, while Zander Horvath recorded his third three-TD performance of the season.
4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (4)
Record: 8-5
Week 15 result: L 19-6 @ WPG
Week 16 opponent: Bye

It was an ugly offensive performance from Saskatchewan in Week 15 as they were limited to six points on two field goals. The Riders committed five total turnovers, including key fumbles from KeeSean Johnson and D’Sean Mimbs. And for the firs time this season, Trevor Harris failed to find anyone in the end zone while completing only 53.3 per cent of his passes. We can at least give some props to the defence as Aubrey Mills Jr. and Seyi Oladipo Jr. each recorded interceptions while five different players had sacks.
5. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5)
Record: 7-6
Week 15 result: W 19-6 vs. SSK
Week 16 opponent: Bye

It wasn’t the flashiest victory for Winnipeg in the Banjo Bowl, but a win is a win. Redha Kramdi returned to the lineup with an interception and a forced fumble as the Bombers had five takeaways in the game. Tommy Nield hauled in the only offensive touchdown on the night, while Zach Collaros threw two interceptions. Collaros left the game injured after trying to make a tackle following the second interception and his status going forward will be something to monitor.
6. Toronto Argonauts (7)
Record: 7-6
Week 15 result: W 26-23 vs. OTT
Week 16 opponent: vs. EDM
Grey Cup odds: +800
Toronto avoided disaster last week, but beating the winless RedBlacks by just three points isn’t exactly a banner night. It was a typical Chad Kelly performance as he tossed for 443 yards and two TDs, but also threw two picks. Kelly now leads the league in passing yards (4,404), passing TDs (29) and interceptions (20).
7. Calgary Stampeders (6)
Record: 5-8
Week 15 result: L 53-16 @ EDM
Week 16 opponent: vs. OTT
Grey Cup odds: +950
Something has to change in Calgary after the Stamps dropped back-to-back games against their provincial rivals by a combined 47 points. Vernon Adams Jr. saw his struggles continue last week while throwing two interceptions before he was benched for Josh Love. The defence clearly wasn’t any better as they were torched for 53 points and 441 total yards.
8. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8)
Record: 4-9
Week 15 result: Bye
Week 16 opponent: vs. MTL
Grey Cup odds: +6500
The Ti-Cats dropped three straight games before last week’s bye, so things aren’t all that cheery in the Hammer. The team remains without quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, who likely won’t play again this season. Mitchell’s replacement, Tre Ford, is dealing with a head injury and to make matters worse, Hamilton will likely need to run the table the rest of the season to have a shot at the playoffs.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks (9)
Record: 0-12
Week 15 result: L 26-23 @ TOR
Week 16 opponent: @ CGY
Ottawa was close to ending their epic losing streak last week, but once again fell short. The RedBlacks’ 12th loss of the season extended their overall losing streak to 18 games, with the team’s last win coming over a calendar year ago. Quarterback Jake Maier was benched and replaced with McLeod Bethel-Thompson in the second quarter last week, but neither passer managed to gain any momentum. A QB controversy is the last thing Ottawa needs right now.
