2026 CFL Betting Odds and Week 13 Power Rankings: The B.C. Lions are surging at the right time
The B.C. Lions are the highest climbers on this week’s power rankings, moving up to No. 3.
As usual, Montreal remains clearly at the top and Ottawa is clearly at the bottom.

1. Montreal Alouettes (1)
Record: 9-1
Week 12 result: W 46-16 vs. OTT
Week 13 opponent: @ WPG
The Montreal Alouettes continued to prove they are the top echelon of the CFL last week in a 30-point drubbing of the winless RedBlacks. Davis Alexander and Tyson Philpot connected for two touchdowns, with Alexander now leading the league in passing yards (3,400), while Philpot is first in receiving yards (1,229), receiving TDs (nine), receptions (83) and targets (106). The Als have won seven straight games, with the last four wins coming by an average of 20.5 points.
2. Edmonton Elks (2)
Record: 8-3
Week 12 result: W 22-19 vs. WPG
Week 13 opponent: Bye
The Elks flirted with disaster early last week before securing a walk-off win with a dominant second half against Winnipeg. Edmonton holds a four-point lead over Saskatchewan for first in the West Division and they look like they’re in line to host a home playoff game for the first time in 11 years.
3. B.C. Lions (4)
Record: 5-5
Week 12 result: W 30-16 vs. SSK
Week 13 opponent: @ OTT
No team has turned their season around more than the B.C. Lions, who have used a four-game win streak to get back to .500 on the year. The Lions overtook Saskatchewan in the power rankings thanks to a double-digit win over the Riders last week. That game saw Nathan Rourke throw two TD passes, while Jevon Cottoy had 110 receiving yards. It was the defence that stole the show, however, as they produced four takeaways and held Saskatchewan to a season-low 16 points.
4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (3)
Record: 6-4
Week 12 result: L 30-16 @ BC
Week 13 opponent: vs. TOR
It could have been a different story for the Roughriders last week, but two costly interceptions by Trevor Harris sealed Saskatchewan’s fate. The defending Grey Cup champs have now dropped back-to-back games, scoring less than 20 points in each. Injuries to the receiving group, particularly Samuel Emilus, have the Riders struggling and at risk of being overtaken by B.C. for second in the West Division standings.
5. Toronto Argonauts (8)
Record: 5-5
Week 12 result: W 39-20 vs. HAM
Week 13 opponent: @ SSK
Despite adding to his league-leading interception total, which now stands at 15, Chad Kelly was effective in Toronto’s win over Hamilton last week. In addition to the one pick, Kelly thew for three TDs and 289 yards as the Argos won for the third time in their last four games. Toronto has a clear hold on second place in the East Division, which is likely as far as they’ll get with how far ahead in first place Montreal is.
6. Calgary Stampeders (7)
Record: 4-6
Week 12 result: Bye
Week 13 opponent: vs. HAM
Calgary was on a bye last week which was good news as quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. and running back Dedrick Mills both suffered head injuries in Week 11. Although the status of Adams and Mills isn’t know this week, the time off was important for a Stamps team looking to put the brakes on a mini two-game losing skid.
7. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (6)
Record: 5-5
Week 12 result: L 22-19 @ EDM
Week 13 opponent: vs. MTL
Did something happen in Winnipeg’s locker-room at halftime last week? That’s what it looked like as the Bombers went from putting up 300 net yards in the first two quarters to just 19 in the second half. The late collapse only leads to more questions about Winnipeg’s ability to remain a top contender in the West Division.
8. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5)
Record: 4-7
Week 12 result: L 39-20 @ TOR
Week 13 opponent: @ CGY
A sloppy performance in Toronto in Week 12 drops Hamilton down three spots in the power rankings. Tre Ford managed to throw for 356 yards, although he didn’t find the end zone, while Keric Wheatfall and Kiondre Smith combined for 235 receiving yards. The real problem was the defence, which allowed three passing TDs and forced only eight incompletions.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks (9)
Record: 0-10
Week 12 result: L 46-16 @ MTL
Week 13 opponent: vs. BC
Ottawa took one step closer to becoming arguably the worst team in CFL history last week. The RedBlacks are just the sixth team ever to start a CFL season 0-10 and their 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) is the longest in modern CFL history. Jake Maier and McLeod Bethel-Thompson combined to throw three interceptions against the Argos and the defence gave up 457 net yards. It’s clear that there will be no quick turnaround for this team.
