2024 CFL Most Outstanding Player Odds: Vernon Adams Jr. leads the pack
After roughly a third of the 2024 CFL season, contenders are emerging on the CFL odds to win Most Outstanding Player.
Here’s your top MOP contenders entering Week 8.

2024 Most Outstanding Player odds
Vernon Adams Jr. (-110)
After seven games, Vernon Adams Jr. leads the CFL in passing yards (2,395), passing touchdowns (14) and average passing yards per game (342.1) while throwing just five interceptions. If you want context for how elite Adams has been, consider that he is currently on pace to break Doug Flutie’s all-time CFL single-season passing record of 6,619 yards set in 1991.
Cody Fajardo (+600)
Cody Fajardo led Montreal to a Grey Cup victory last year and he’s been even better in 2024. Through six starts, Fajardo has thrown for 1,636 yards with a 10-4 TD-INT ratio while leading the league with a 77.5 completion percentage. Unfortunately, Fajardo landed in the six-game injured list after tweaking his hamstring. He’ll need a quick recovery and stellar stats in the second half of the season to remain a MOP candidate.
Alexander Hollins (+1500)
Alexander Hollins has been one of Vernon Adams’ favourite targets in BC. Hollins has hauled in 39 receptions for 663 yards and four touchdowns, ranking third in the CFL in all three categories. He averages 94.7 receiving yards per game and among receivers who have more than 15 receptions he leads the league with an average of 17.0 yards per reception.
Most Outstanding Player trends
- Seven of the last eight MOP winners were QBs, with Hamilton Tiger-Cats receiver Brandon Banks bucking the trend in 2019.
- The only defensive player to win MOP was BC Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian in 2014.
- Only two players in the last 25 years have won back-to-back MOP awards: Winnipeg Blue Bombers QB Zach Collaros (2021, 2022) and Montreal Alouettes QB Anthony Calvillo (2008, 2009).
- Doug Flutie won a record six MOP awards in a seven-year span with three different teams (BC in 1991, Calgary in 1992, 1993 and 1994, and Toronto in 1996 and 1997).
