All things considered, it’s a fairly modest NBA slate on Thursday, but we still have nine games to sink our teeth into and find some value in the betting market. One of the marquee matchups of the day sees the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic do battle in Berlin in what is an overseas showcase for the league.

These teams have been disappointing relative to expectations heading into the season, but there’s no reason why we can’t get a compelling game between them in front of an international audience.

Grizzlies vs. Magic NBA Betting Odds

Even though it hasn’t been a season to remember thus far, the Magic are in the Eastern Conference playoff picture at the moment, and Orlando is a 4.5-point favourite in this neutral-site game for a reason. 

Memphis hasn’t been right all season long, and the Grizzlies are going to be without Ja Morant, plus a number of depth pieces against Orlando in what could be a game played at a higher pace.

The Grizzlies have not been profitable this season, as they are currently sporting a 17-22 ATS record – which is one of the worst marks in the NBA.

The Magic have been even worse against the number, holding a 16-24 record this season while sitting at a dead even 20-20 in the over/under market.

Memphis Grizzlies

Things were a lot better a couple of years ago for Memphis. The Grizzlies were a consistent playoff team and had a franchise player in Morant to build their team around for the future. Just a few years later, the explosive guard is expected to be traded, while the rest of the team is not exactly inspiring at the moment. 

Jaren Jackson Jr. has regressed a bit following an excellent season a year ago, while the younger players on the roster (Cam Spencer, Cedric Coward, GG Jackson) are the ones that are getting a ton of run as the organization looks toward its future. It remains to be seen what becomes of Memphis, but we have a hard time seeing the Grizzlies offence doing much on Thursday.

Orlando Magic

The Magic entered the season with high expectations after adding a few new pieces in the offseason, including the addition of Desmond Bane in a blockbuster trade with the Grizzlies. Things haven’t quite gone to plan for Orlando, but there is still a path for the Magic to finish inside the top-six in the Eastern Conference standings and potentially make some noise in the playoffs.

The problem in this game is the Orlando offence, which has not been good at all away from home this season. With that in mind, it’s difficult to see the Magic blowing out Memphis in an unfamiliar setting, even if Orlando is playing better basketball at the moment.  

NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Grizzlies vs. Magic?

This is a game in which all signs point to an under, especially with the game total currently sitting at nearly 230 points. Ultimately, we’ll side with the Magic to pick up a very close victory by a 113-110 score in front of a neutral crowd at Uber Arena.
