Titans vs. Browns Point Spread: NFL Week 3 Odds, Prediction

Only one elite running back will take the field when the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns clash Sunday. The 1-1 Browns lost both their game with the Pittsburgh Steelers along with star running back Nick Chubb on Monday, with Chubb being out the remainder of the year with another knee injury.

Kickoff at Cleveland Browns Stadium gets going at 1 p.m. EDT with the Browns -3.5 on the point spread at home and the over-under at 39.5 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Cleveland ranks second in the league thus far when it comes to points allowed, giving up just 29 through two outings. That number gets even lower when it comes to Cleveland’s defence, as the Browns offence gave up two scores to their opponent last week. This means the Browns defence has allowed only 15 points (one touchdown and three field goals) in two weeks.

Tennessee again covered in Week 2 to improve to 2-0 ATS this season. But it’s the Browns who have covered in four of these teams’ last five matchups, although Tennessee is 6-2 straight up in their last eight visits to Cleveland. Six of the last seven Titans–Browns contests have finished over the total.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans got a much-needed stronger performance from quarterback Ryan Tannehill last week, and just like that it translated to a victory. Tannehill passed for 246 yards, completing 20 of 24 pass attempts and turning the ball over zero times. Running back Derrick Henry only put up 80 yards on 25 carries, but the Titans as a team had a nice (and busy) day on the ground with 34 rushes for 141 yards and two scores.

Henry was also limited in Wednesday’s practice with a toe injury. Rookie left guard Peter Skoronski did not play in Week 2 and did not practice with an abdomen injury. Defensive starters Kristian Fulton and Amani Hooker were full practice participants Wednesday after not playing in Week 2 with injuries.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns appeared to still be in a good spot Monday at Pittsburgh after Chubb went down, leading late in the fourth quarter until Deshaun Watson fumbled for a Steelers game-winning score. Moving along, 2022 fifth-round pick Jerome Ford is Cleveland’s starting running back after coming in and accumulating 131 yards on 19 touches last Monday. Cleveland also brought back Kareem Hunt to play alongside Ford in the backfield.

The bigger problem right now is Watson. The team’s supposed franchise quarterback has played nothing like one throughout his Browns tenure and made three costly turnovers to lose at Pittsburgh last week. No matter how strong the defence or running back depth is, if Watson can’t play to his expectations the Browns will struggle on a weekly basis.
