Saints vs. Steelers Point Spread: NFL Week 10 Odds, Prediction

It’s a short week for the 3-6 Saints who hosted Monday Night Football in Week 9 and fell 27-13 to the Baltimore Ravens. At 2-6 Pittsburgh should be feeling fresh, coming off  their bye week and now having two massive home games up next.

Kickoff at Acrisure Stadium goes at 1 p.m. EST and the Saints enter as 2.5-point favourites on the road, with the over-under at 40.5 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sunday is New Orleans’ fourth road game of the year and they’re still without a victory against the spread as the road team this season. History isn’t on the Saints side either as they’re 4-13 ATS in their last 17 games against an AFC North opponent. Pittsburgh meanwhile has covered in six straight outings versus NFC teams.

The under is 6-1 in Pittsburgh’s last seven home games, and the Steelers’ 18 points per game at home is better than just three NFL teams this season. New Orleans is averaging nearly a field goal more per game on the road than they are at home, but it hasn’t translated to much success in the win-loss column as they have one road win on the year.

New Orleans Saints

Head coach Dennis Allen is sticking with quarterback Andy Dalton, as a now healthy Jameis Winston remains in the backup role after getting injured back in September. Dalton’s started six straight games for the Saints and is 2-4 with 1,385 passing yards to go with 10 touchdown passes and five interceptions.

The Saints were held to under 24 points for only the third time this season in Monday’s loss versus Baltimore, a game that saw the Saints score six points through 45 minutes. New Orleans really struggled to move the ball, rushing 15 times for 48 yards to go with 195 passing yards.

The Saints could could be without some key defensive players too as linebacker Pete Werner and defensive lineman Marcus Davenport suffered injuries in Monday’s loss. Werner (ankle) missed practice Wednesday and Davenport (calf) was limited.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh’s moving on without Chase Claypool on offence after the receiver was traded to Chicago during the Steelers bye week. 2022 1st-round pick Kenny Pickett still has some good weapons to work with, including tight end Pat Freiermuth who’s led the team in receiving their last two games. Freiermuth is five yards behind the team receiving lead with 367.

Possibly the most concerning aspect in Pittsburgh’s game is their pass defence. Philadelphia threw for 290 yards and four scores through the air on Pittsburgh in Week 8, and the Steelers have the league’s second-most passing yards allowed per game at 277.3.

Defensive backs William Jackson III (back) and Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) both missed practice while Levi Wallace (shoulder) was limited. Leading tackler Myles Jack (knee) did not practice.
