Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, NBA Odds
The third-seed Warriors cruised throughout their double-digit victory in Game 1, despite having star point guard Steph Curry come off the bench and in a minutes limit. There’s yet to be any word on whether Curry will continue to come off the bench, but head coach Steve Kerr did confirm Curry is clear to play again Monday.
Tip-off at Chase Center goes at 10 p.m. EDT, with the Warriors a 7-point favourite to win and the over-under at 224.5 on the NBA odds.
Nuggets vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds
Golden State easily covered a six-point spread in Game 1, and went over the total of 223 in their 123-107 victory Saturday. The win extended a Warriors’ winning streak to six that dates back to the regular season, and also made them 6-1 against the spread in their last seven outings. The Nuggets are also now 3-10 ATS in their last 13 bouts with Golden State.
The over is now 10-4 in Denver’s last 14 games and has connected in five of their last six road outings. But the Warriors and Nuggets still have a recent history of lower-scoring affairs — even after Game 1 the under has hit in 10 of the last 15 Denver–Golden State meetings.
Denver Nuggets
Nikola Jokić did everything he could in Game 1, once again leading Denver with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists to go with three steals in a losing effort. Jokić led the Nuggets in every major statistical category this season and finished 10th in the NBA in points per game and second in rebounds per game. After Jokić, veteran forward Will Barton had a nice night with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists on 10 of 18 shooting from the field.
Denver’s problems Saturday centred around the three-point line, an area Golden State is always elite at. The Nuggets shot just 31.4 per cent from deep, while Golden State nailed 16 threes and nearly hit their treys at a 50 per cent rate.
Golden State Warriors
Game 1 was the Jordan Poole show for Golden State. Poole scored a game-high 30 and had an excellent night from the arc, going five for seven on three-pointers. Klay Thompson chipped in with 19 points, also hitting five threes. Curry played 22 minutes off the bench and finished with 16 points on 13 field goal attempts but started off extremely cold, or rather rusty.
With Curry likely finding his groove now after missing the last month, Golden State is again a title threat. They have several scoring options, but as always run through the splash brothers in Thompson and Curry.
