MNF Seahawks vs. Eagles Point Spread: NFL Week 12 Odds, Prediction

The 7-3 Seattle Seahawks and 3-6-1 Philadelphia Eagles are both looking for a Monday night win that win to keep them in first in their respective divisions. A classic reminder that a team can only control what’s in front of them. That’s the mantra for the Eagles’ defence in Week 12, who will have their hands full with the illusive Russell Wilson.

Monday’s a rematch of last year’s NFC wild-card round, except this time around the Eagles are hoping to have Carson Wentz for a full 60 minutes.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Wentz is the main focus of this game too after a disastrous 2020-21 campaign thus far. The fifth-year pivot leads the NFL with 14 interceptions, which match his number of touchdowns. Wentz is 0-3 in his career against Seattle too, not including last year’s playoff loss.

Seattle’s been on quite a tear against Philadelphia overall. They’ve won and covered in eight of their last 10 meetings in which the Eagles have averaged 14 points and 2.7 turnovers per game.

Philadelphia’s failed to cover in eight of their last 11 games, and the under has hit in 10 of their last 12 home games. Oddsmakers are giving Seattle a 5-point advantage with the total set at 50.

Seattle Seahawks

For a group that was heavily struggling, last Thursday’s win against Arizona was huge for Seattle’s defence. The Seahawks held Arizona to 257 passing yards and 314 total yards, which is a serious accomplishment for a unit that ranks dead last in both categories.

Seattle’s getting healthier too, as running back Chris Carson and defensive back Shaquill Griffin are both practising. Carlos Hyde also ran for 79 yards and a touchdown in his return last week.

It’s still no secret that this team runs through Wilson though, who leads the NFL with 30 touchdown passes. Wilson should be looking D.K. Metcalf’s way a ton Monday too, as Seattle’s deep receiving threat burned the Eagles for 160 yards and a score in the playoffs last season.

Philadelphia Eagles

Head coach Doug Pederson is sticking with Wentz despite public criticism for the latter’s poor play, and what better opponent for a revival than Seattle’s 32nd ranked pass defence? They should help the trio of Greg Ward, Travis Fulgham, and Alshon Jeffrey who are all ice cold too.

The only group currently chugging along for the Eagles is their defensive front. They’ve collected 34 sacks this season, ranking second in the NFL. Seattle’s given up 33 on the season, and with their wounded offensive line it’s a matchup Philadelphia can take advantage of.

All defensive rushers should be feasting Monday, as the Eagles are just one of two teams with more sacks allowed than Seattle, leading the league with 40.
