ESPN is reporting Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark suffered a bone bruise on her left ankle during a workout earlier this month.

Clark hasn’t played since July 15 because of a groin injury, while the new injury wasn’t officially reported until Wednesday. She has been rehabbing both injuries, but the Fever announced on July 24 Clark has no timeline for a return to the court.

Last year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year has been limited to just 13 games this season after not missing a game through her professional or college careers before this year. She is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds this season.

Because there has been no timeline for Clark to return, it’s not known if the newest ankle injury has impacted when she will be back on the court.

Indiana head coach Stephanie White says there is “hope” Clark will be back before the end of the regular season, but it’s “status quo” until she returns to practice.

Clark, who hasn’t been practicing with the team, is currently focused on rehabbing and individual work.

The injury-riddled Fever (19-16) sit third in the Eastern Conference standings and sixth overall as they look to reach the playoffs for a second straight season. The team is down four guards after losing Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald to season-ending injuries over the last two weeks.

Indiana next faces the league-best Minnesota Lynx (28-5) at home on Friday.
