2026 French Open women’s singles odds and prediction: Iga Swiatek looking to hold ground at Roland Garros
Jannik Sinner may be a massive favourite on the men’s side at the upcoming French Open, but the story is a much different one in the women’s event. The trophy in Paris might as well be completely up for grabs, with no player going off at better than +240 odds. Five different contenders have +900 odds or better – Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Mirra Andreeva, and Coco Gauff.
That is not, however, where the list of realistic title winners ends. After all, nobody among that aforementioned group of five is looking dominant at the moment. Case in point: the two recent 1000-point tournaments on clay were won by Marta Kostyuk (Madrid) and Elina Svitolina (Rome). Andreeva and Gauff managed to reach the respective finals at those two events, but neither could ultimately get the job done. All things considered, it is not easy to forecast the upcoming festivities at Roland Garros.
Nonetheless, let’s give it our best shot by breaking down the odds and discussing the best bets to make.
French Open women’s singles odds
Swiatek is understandably the favourite based on her history in Paris. The third-ranked Pole is a four-time champion of the event (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024) and has not lost before the quarterfinals since 2019. Swiatek may not be in peak form this season, but she at least managed to reach the Rome semifinals before falling to Svitolina in three sets.
Sabalenka and Rybakina are the top two players in the world and second and third choices in Paris, respectively. Both are huge hitters, but neither is at her best on clay, and neither has ever won the French Open. Sabalenka advanced to the final 12 months ago before succumbing to Gauff 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4.
Here is the short list of favourites to prevail at Roland Garros:
- Iga Swiatek +240
- Aryna Sabalenka +250
- Elena Rybakina +700
- Mirra Andreeva +900
- Coco Gauff +900
- Elina Svitolina +1400
- Karolina Muchova +2500
- Marta Kostyuk +2500
- Amanda Anisimova +3300
- Victoria Mboko +3300
- Jessica Pegula +3300
- Qinwen Zheng +3300
French Open women’s singles best bet: Coco Gauff to win (+900)
When you can get the defending champion at relatively sizeable +900 odds, it is an opportunity that should not be missed. Although Gauff’s serve is a liability these days, that can be more of a problem on grass or a fast, hard court – surfaces on which it is more difficult to break an opponent’s serve.
On clay, Gauff has no trouble earning service breaks to make up for her own donations of serve. The 22-year-old has been decent on clay so far this spring, with a quarterfinal showing in Stuttgart, a fourth-round effort in Madrid, and a semifinal showing in Rome. It’s also worth noting that with Swiatek seeded third and Gauff seeded fourth, the American is guaranteed to be on the opposite side of the draw from the four-time champion.
French Open women’s singles prediction: Karolina Muchova to win (+2500)
If you are looking for more of a long shot at Roland Garros, Muchova could be the way to go. The 29-year-old Czech is a former runner-up, having lost to Swiatek in three sets in the 2023 championship match. Muchova has enjoyed the big stage throughout her career, playing better at Grand Slams than her ranking suggests. The current world No. 10 is a seven-time slam quarterfinalist, including three semifinal performances in addition to her 2023 runner-up finish in Paris.
