2026 French Open men’s singles odds and prediction: Can anyone stop Jannik Sinner?
With Carlos Alcaraz out of the tournament due to wrist injury, Jannik Sinner is an overwhelming favourite to win his first French Open title in Paris. The top-ranked Italian has been a dominant force on tour since losing to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open semifinals at the beginning of the season (Djokovic then fell to Alcaraz in the championship match). Sinner has won all five Masters 1000 events in 2026, including three on clay in Monte-Carlo, Madrid, and Rome.
Are there any realistic challengers to Sinner at Roland Garros? Probably not. But if there are, the short list includes Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, Rafael Jodar, Arthur Fils, and Daniil Medvedev. Let’s break down the odds and discuss the best bets to make.
French Open men’s singles odds
Sinner came within one point of lifting the French Open trophy in 2025, only to be denied by Alcaraz in an epic five-setter. With the Spaniard not in the way this time around, it’s hard – as the odds indicate – to see anyone other than Sinner being the last man standing in Paris.
Zverev, who is the undisputed best player to have never won a Grand Slam, is going off as the second choice. The 29-year-old German is a three-time major finalist, having finished runner-up once at the Australian, French, and U.S. Open.
Here is the short list of favourites to triumph at Roland Garros:
- Jannik Sinner -310
- Alexander Zverev +1000
- Novak Djokovic +1600
- Casper Ruud +2000
- Rafael Jodar +2000
- Arthur Fils +2200
- Joao Fonseca +3500
- Jakub Mensik +4000
French Open men’s singles best bet: Novak Djokovic to win (+1600)
To be clear, Sinner is almost a virtual lock to capture the title. Still, there is no value on him at -310 odds before the tournament has even started. The task is to find where the value lies, and it looks like the answer is on Djokovic. Yes – even at 38 years old, the Serb remains a force on the big stage. Djokovic does not play much – and certainly not well – at smaller tournaments in the latter stages of his illustrious career, but his motivation level is entirely different at Grand Slams. In fact, Djokovic has reached at least the semifinals at five consecutive majors.
Also, don’t forget that he captured a long-awaited Olympic gold medal in the summer of 2024 – really not that long ago. Where did those games take place? At none other than Roland Garros. It should also be noted that Djokovic has not lost before the quarterfinals of the French Open since 2009, a stretch that has seen him win the title three times (2016, 2021, 2023). He simply loves this venue, so count out the 24-time major champion at your own peril.
French Open men’s singles prediction: Daniil Medvedev to win (+6000)
Medvedev is probably not someone you want to back on the moneyline or the game spread in any individual match. That, however, is of no real concern on the futures market. The current version of Medvedev comes with a very low floor, but he also has an extremely high ceiling. He very well could lose in round one, but he could just as easily win it all.
Medvedev has gone all the way at a Grand Slam once before (2021 U.S. Open), which makes him a much more appealing choice – especially at incredibly high odds – than Zverev, Fils, Jodar, Fonseca, and others. The 29-year-old Russian took a set off Sinner in the Rome semifinals earlier this month, so he heads into the French Open with some confidence.
