Sweden vs. Slovakia Betting Odds
On the draw no bet odds, Sweden is -333 and Slovakia +220. The total is set at 2.5 goals with the under a -175 favourite. To score first, Sweden is -167 with Slovaka at +180 and no goals +680. That both teams score is +104 with no -164. That only Sweden scores is +175 and only Slovakia +660.
To win Group E, Sweden is a +445 second favourite behind Spain (-244) with Slovakia at +488 and then Poland (+1977) rounding out the quartet. Sweden to advance to the knockout round is -435 with no +275. Slovakia is the same price on both. That a team from Group E wins the tournament is +598.
This is the sixth all-time match with the countries. Sweden has won two and three ended in draws. They last played a 2018 friendly and it ended 1-1 in Sweden.
Team Sweden
We projected the Swedes, ranked No. 18 in the world, to lose 2-0 in Seville to No. 6 Spain in the first match of group play but it ended in a 0-0 draw – basically, a victory for Sweden, which controlled possession just 25 per cent of the time and was outshot 17-4. Goalie Robin Olsen played terrific. The Swedes didn’t have an official shot on goal and just one corner kick. They completed 103 passes compared to 852 by La Roja.
”We knew it would be tough, that we’d have to run a lot. They’re good at keeping the ball. But it’s tough to run without the ball,” Swedish midfielder Albin Ekdal said. “We couldn’t gain possession and when we did we didn’t manage to do anything constructive.” Sweden has now failed to score in three straight European Championship matches. Defender Victor Lindelof won the Star of the Match trophy. Mikael Lustig got a yellow card in the 55th minute. The Swedes can’t advance or be eliminated from advancing no matter what happens here.
Team Slovakia
Projected a 1-0 loss for world No. 36 Slovakia in its first group stage match vs. No. 21 Poland, but the Slovaks were 2-1 upset winners. It certainly helped that Poland was down to 10 men when midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak was sent off in the 62nd for a second yellow card. In addition, Slovakia’s first goal was an own goal by Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny. The second goal was in the 89th minute by Milan Skriniar, who was named Star of the Match.
Skriniar’s three international goals have come in his last four appearances for Slovakia, which was picked by many to be the weakest side in Group E. It was only the country’s third ever major tournament win and second in the European Championship. Skriniar is +1400 for an anytime goal in this match. The Slovak favourite is Ivan Schranz at +350. Slovakia advances with a win and wins the group with a victory and if Spain doesn’t beat Poland on Saturday.
