Premier League Predictions: Manchester Derby Under, Arsenal, Isaak Anytime Goal
The international break has ended, and players return from World Cup Qualifiers (and friendlies) back to their respective clubs. EPL Matchday 4 picks up again this weekend, with some epic clashes, starting with Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest, before heading into a classic Manchester Derby to end the week.
Check out my best bets for the Premier League odds this week and follow my picks for my top three games below!
EPL Manchester City vs Manchester United best bet: Under 3.5 goals (-185)
For the first time in many seasons, Manchester City sits below United at 13th place on the ladder with just three points coming from one win and two losses. City’s defeat to Tottenham wasn’t a huge shocker considering the Spurs’ recent form, but their 2-1 loss to Brighton wasn’t expected. Erling Haaland still leads the Premier League with three goals to his name, with Tijani Reijnders showcasing one goal and one assist. They’ll both have to put on immaculate performances today to boost City’s chances of earning a crucial three points.
United is already looking more promising than the 2024-25 season, as they currently reside in ninth with four points and a 1-1-1 record. While they didn’t kick off the season with a dream start, they faced the likes of Arsenal in their first game, which contributed to their only loss. However, their most recent match against Burnley ended in a 3-2 victory, which will likely boost spirits as they take on long-time rivals City.
In their last three meetings, City have won once, United have won once, and their only meeting in 2025 at the end of last season ended in a 0-0 draw. Considering only seven goals have hit the back of the net over the previous three games between the two, I’d say it’s safe to go with Under 3.5 goals in this one, as I expect a 2-1 City win or 1-1 draw.
EPL Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest best bet: Arsenal three-way money (-250)
Arsenal will surely be looking to turn it around after their perfect game streak ended with a 1-0 loss to Liverpool in their last match on August 31. They sit in third with six points and a 2-1 record, with their only loss coming from the reigning champions, Liverpool. Goal scoring won’t be a problem for the Gunners against Nottingham Forest, with both Viktor Gyokeres and Jurrien Timber scoring two goals each after just three games. The Gunners have home-field advantage as well, so it’s looking up for Arsenal as they’ll want to bounce back from a tough loss.
Nottingham Forest won’t complain about their recent performances as they sit at 10th place with four points and a 1-1-1 record. Much like Arsenal, they are coming off a fresh loss with their last game ending in a 3-0 defeat to West Ham. Forward Chris Wood will need to add to his two goals on the season to have any hopes of helping his team stay in the game. All things considered, Arsenal will have this game on lock to collect another three points with a cool 3-0 victory.
EPL best player prop bet: Alexander Isaak Anytime Goalscorer (-125)
One of the most exciting matches of the week features the brand new signing of Alexander Isaak from Newcastle United to Liverpool for £125 million. Liverpool will surely continue their crusade with the hopes of ending the week against 14th-place Burnley with another three points, and they’re also certain to test out how Isaak operates up front for the team. The question is, will he start?
If the 6’4” Swede plays today, he’s sure to score anytime to help the Reds go 4-0 on the season and dominate Burnley with a 3-0 victory.
