Interactive Schedule for World Cup 2014!
After a four-year wait since Spain was crowned World Champion in Soccer City, Johannesburg, on July 11th, 2010, World Cup 2014 is now only days away. The FIFA World Cup is the biggest single sports event in the world, and you can keep track of everything you need to know with Sports Interaction’s fantastic Brazil 2014 Interactive Schedule!
The schedule allows you to keep track of everything that’s going in the soccer carnival that Brazil ’14 will be. That’s 64 games played between thirty-two nations over ten stadiums to leave only one team standing on July 13th, 2014 in the centre circle of the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro as the undisputed Champions of the World.
The countries are arranged in their first round groups – click on a country, and you’ll see that country’s group fixtures, and the time and venue for each game. You’ll also see the country’s historical record and some fun trivia to amaze your friends with your soccer knowledge.
If you think by date, that’s no problem – there’s a date scrubber at the bottom of the screen that lets you see what games will be played on a particular day – if it’s June 14th, it must be England v Italy.
There’s a bracket that shows the second-round matchups when the World Cup ups the ante and becomes a straight-forward shootout. There are details on the stadiums themselves, there’s a downloadable .pdf World Cup wallchart if you want to keep it old-school and – you hardly thought we’d forget – there’s a great big bet button where you can get World Cup betting action on every ball kicked in Brazil ’14!
Brazil start as betting favorites, with the crushing weight of the expectation as big a danger as their opponents. Argentina are there, looking for Lionel Messi to do what their other great pocket-size genius, Diego Maradona, did in 1986 and lead his nation to glory. Germany, the second-best team in the world for the past six years, are contenders as are the best, mighty Spain, who, after years of frustration, are now in a position to become the first country to win four major international titles in a row – Euro ’08, World Cup ’10, Euro ’12 and now World Cup ’14!
Of the outsiders, Italy and France are always contenders, while the Dutch suffer the ignominy of having contested three Championship Games without ever winning one. England will never not expect, Uruguay rises and falls with every breath superstar Luiz Suarez takes, Columbia and Belgium have sent their best-ever teams and Portugal hope 2013 Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, can take on the world and win.
