Roma vs. Juventus Serie A Preview and Prediction

With Serie A entering its crucial final third, all eyes turn to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 2:45 p.m. ET as Roma hosts Juventus in a clash between two Italian giants battling for Champions League spots.

Roma (16-8-2, 50 points), unbeaten in three matches across all competitions, currently sits in fourth place. The Giallorossi enjoyed a 3-0 triumph over Cremonese, endured a 2-2 draw away at Napoli, and blanked Cagliari at the Olimpico, 2-0.

In contrast, fifth-placed Juventus (13-6-7, 46 points) looks to snap a recent winless streak amid mounting injury woes. The club have won just once in six matches across all competitions, and were just eliminated by Galatasaray in the Champions League after extra time on Wednesday.

Juventus holds a slight edge in recent head-to-heads in this historic rivalry, with two wins and three draws in the last five meetings, including a 2-1 home victory in December.

Roman is a slim +160 favourite to win on the Serie A odds, while Juventus is a +185 underdog and a draw is listed at +210.

Roma vs. Juventus Odds and Betting Trends

Roma is 9-3-1 at home this season in Serie A, while Juventus is 6-5-2 straight up and 5-1-7 ATS on the road in league play.

Juve have played to the over just five times in 13 away league matches, while Roma, which has scored 34 goals and allowed 18 this season, have played to the under 10 times in 13 league games at Olimpico.

Roma

Coach Ivan Jurić’s team is firmly locked in a battle for a Champions League berth and has been bolstered by midfield maestro Bryan Cristante and received a recent boost from Donyell Malen, who recorded braces against both Napoli and Cagliari.

The club are 6-2-2 in their last 10 league matches. Matias Soulè leads Roma with six Serie A goals, followed by Malen with five in just six matches. Crisante, Evan Ndicka, and Niccolo Pisilli all tallied in the Cremonese blowout.

Soulè, Mario Hermoso, Paulo Dybala, Evan Ferguson, and Stephan El Shaarawy headline a comprehensive injury list for the Giallorossi.

Juventus

The Bianconeri have dropped two straight in Serie A, getting blanked by Como and losing 3-2 to Inter, but are 5-3-2 in their last 10 league matches overall.

Kenan Yildiz leads Juve in league goals with eight, and has added four assists to equal Jonathan David and Weston McKennie at the top of the club’s leaderboard.

Juventus is equally hampered by injuries, with Emil Holm (calf tear), Arkadiusz Milik (calf injury), and Dušan Vlahović (adductor), among those out.

The last time these clubs met, just ahead of Christmas, Francisco Conceição tallied in the first half, and Loïs Openda scored the eventual winner in the 70th minutes as Juventus weathered Tommasso Baldanzi’s retort in the 75th and held on for a 2-1 victory.

Who Will Win Roma vs. Juventus?

The Giallorossi have been virtually unbeatable at Olimpico, going 5-0-1 in the last six league matches there. However, Juve has performed well there historically, dropping just one of its past six matches on Roma’s grounds.

It’s hard to ignore Juventus’ up-and-down performance of late, though. Roma, with a league-best 16 goals allowed in 26 matches, simply does not concede much at home. Over their last six league matches at Olimpico, Roma have conceded just twice while posting four clean sheets. Look for that recent trend to continue in a 1-0 win over Juve on Sunday.
