Belgium vs. Senegal Round of 32 Prediction: FIFA World Cup Odds, Betting Picks
It took three matches, but Belgium finally scored a goal at the 2026 World Cup. Now, the Red Devils head to Seattle to take on Senegal in a Round of 32 matchup on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
The Belgians entered their final group stage match against New Zealand with two draws and one own-goal representing the totality of their offensive performance. Thankfully, New Zealand was quite hospitable in a 5-1 Belgium victory. Leandro Trossard had a brace while Romelu Lukaku added a goal and an assist.
Senegal was in an even more dire situation after losing its first two group stage matches to World Cup favourites France and popular dark horse Norway. The Lions of Teranga needed a big win, and they got it with a 5-0 shutout over Iraq. Papa Gueye had a brace as Senegal tallied four second-half goals in the win.

Belgium FIFA World Cup Odds and News
The Red Devils are one of the most frustrating sides in the entire tournament. They have talent and experience, but the Belgians often seem unwilling to be here. Belgium finished third in Russia in 2018, but didn’t make it out of Group F four years later. And now, the last remnants of its own golden generation are coming to an end. Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku are all playing in their fourth World Cup. Many of their compatriots, like Eden Hazard, Jan Vertonghen, and Toby Alderweireld, have already hung up their international boots.
Before the New Zealand breakout, a Belgian player had not scored in four consecutive World Cup games. There is too much quality on this side to question it, but here we are.
Coach Rudi Garcia does have a healthy squad, which is +135 to be eliminated this round and +270 to be knocked out against the USA-Bosnia Herzegovina winner in the Round of 16.
Senegal FIFA World Cup Odds and News
Other teams, like Belgium, advanced despite a less-than-stellar group stage performance. Senegal’s 1-2 record feels different. They were outscored by a combined 6-3 by France and Norway, but coach Papa Thiaw’s side gets credit for not shying away at the moment against two of the tournament’s most impressive sides.
The Lions of Teranga have reached the knockout stage in three of their four World Cup appearances, reaching the quarterfinals in their debut. They have a veteran team, with Ismaila Sarr and Kalidou Koulibaly each having appeared in nine World Cup matches, and Sadio Mane scoring in Russia in 2018. The problem for Diaw’s side lies with a defence that was carved up by superstars Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. Whether Belgium has the quality up top to mimic those two previous performances remains to be seen.
Mory Diaw replaced injured Edouard Mendy in goal in the second half of Senegal’s 3-2 loss to Norway, and he made one save in the shutout over Iraq. Senegal is -170 to be eliminated in this round, +300 to get eliminated in the Round of 16, and +500 to get eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Belgium vs. Senegal Player Odds and Props
Lukaku, who scored against New Zealand and forced an own goal immediately after subbing on against Egypt, is +135 to score. Trossard, who had eight goals and 10 assists across all competitions for Arsenal this past season, is +310.
Nicolas Jackson, who has not scored in this tournament, is the favourite Senegalese to score against Belgium at +280. However, Ismaela Sarr, who has three goals here, is +320, as is Mane, and Papa Gueye, who had the brace against Iraq, is an attractive long shot at +800.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Bracket and Futures
Belgium is +200 to reach the quarterfinals, while Senegal is +320. Whoever wins on Wednesday has a very realistic chance of advancing that far.
Belgium vs. Senegal Score Prediction
Mock bracket picks are way too chalky. That makes sense for sides like France, but many have Belgium to reach the final eight. We aren’t one of them. Look for Senegal to pull off what we feel is a very modest upset and win in penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation.
