Connor Hellebuyck (13-2-2) is expected to start this one, and he’ll have a new back-up as Steve Mason was placed on IR with a concussion on Monday. In his place, Eric Comrie was recalled from the Manitoba Moose. Comrie has played 13 games with the Moose, and has an 8-4-1 record with a shutout, a 2.30 goals against average and a .927 save percentage.
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche enter this game with an 11-9-2 record, currently sitting seventh in the Central division. The team last played on Saturday night, where they fell to the Calgary Flames 3-2. Jonathan Bernier made his fourth consecutive start and was tagged with the lost; he is now 4-5-1-1 on the year. Starter Semyon Varlamov has been battling an illness, but is expected to make the start against the Jets Wednesday night. Varlamov is 7-4-1-1 in 12 starts, with a goals against of 3.23 and a save percentage of .903.
Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon has nine points (one goal, eight assists) in his past three home games. He leads the team in scoring with 26 points (nine goals, 21 assists) in 22 games.
