Both squads have 13 points in the standings, but Anaheim has one more game under their belt and is coming off their first regulation win of the season. The Senators have lost 11 of their past 13 and are in the midst of a three-game slide. Ottawa will be the -136 favourite to win on the NHL odds with the total set at 6.5. The puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.

Senators vs. Ducks NHL Betting Odds

These two teams have faced off eight times since the 2017-18 season and the Ducks have beaten the Senators five times. In that stretch, they have only hit the over once and the road team has won six of the eight games.

The Senators’ offence was red hot to start the season, but they have cooled down, being held to just a single goal in each of their past three games. That trend has helped them play the under in six straight matchups, putting them 8-11 against the total. They have dropped three straight against the spread and now sit 10-9 ATS.

Anaheim’s 2.6 goals per game is scraping the bottom of the barrel amongst NHL teams (30th) and that has led them to a 9-11 record on the over/under, playing the under in six of their past seven matchups. Their most recent win snapped a two-game skid ATS helping them cover in three of their past five outings, boosting them to a 7-13 record ATS.

Both of these teams have had trouble keeping the puck out of their net this season, each ranking in the bottom five in goals against per game. Ottawa has been slightly better giving up 3.6 per game (29th), while the Ducks have been mending their defensive woes over the past few weeks but are still averaging 4.2 against (31st).

Ottawa Senators

The Sens outshot and outhit the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night, but still came up short. They lost 4-1 to extend their losing streak to three games, dropping their record to 6-12-1.

Rookie defenceman Jake Sanderson scored the lone tally for the Sens, picking up his first NHL goal. Ottawa was held to just a single goal for the third straight game, despite throwing 40 shots on goal.

Tim Stutzle managed an assist on the Sanderson goal to add to his impressive numbers through November. The German winger is leading the team in scoring this month with 13 points (6G, 7A) in 11 games.

Cam Talbot made 32 saves in net for Ottawa and is still looking for his second win with the team after returning from injury in early November. He has posted some decent numbers through six starts, keeping his goals-against average to 2.83 and save percentage at .910 despite his 1-5 record.

Anton Forsberg has been starting every third game for Ottawa lately, so expect him back in the crease Friday.

Anaheim Ducks

The 6-13-1 Anaheim Ducks picked up their first regulation win of the season Wednesday in a 3-2 upset versus the New York Rangers. John Gibson, one of the best goalies in the league despite being stuck on the worst team, stole this game for his team. He stopped all 17 shots in the third period and made 41 saves in the game to seal the victory for Anaheim.

Dmitry Kulikov led the way offensively for the Ducks scoring his first of the season and adding an assist. Mason McTavish (3) opened the scoring for his team and Troy Terry’s goal (8) would stand as the game-winner.

Defenceman Cam Fowler had an assist in the win, boosting his point streak to five games. The 30-year-old had just one assist before this current point streak where he has picked up eight points (2G, 6A).

Expect Gibson back in goal versus the Sens as he will look for back-to-back wins for just the second time this season.
