Detroit Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs
DET: Alex Lyon (confirmed)
Lyon (2-3-0, 2.78 GAA, .916 SV) has given up 10 goals on 67 shots (.851 SV) on a two-game losing streak. This is the first of a Detroit back-to-back against the Maple Leafs and Rangers, so it was pick your poison between Lyon and Cam Talbot for the coaching staff.
TOR: Anthony Stolarz (unconfirmed)
Stolarz (5-2-2, 2.12 GAA, .928 SV) made 29 saves in a 4-0 win over Boston for his first shutout of the season on Tuesday. He’s snatched the No. 1 from Joseph Woll, but when thinking longterm, keep in mind Stolarz has never started more than 24 games in a season and he has a history of injuries.
Pittsburgh Penguins at Washington Capitals
PIT: Joel Blomqvist (likely)
Alex Nedeljkovic got the start for Thursday’s loss in Carolina, so it should be the rookie Blomqvist on Friday. Blomqvist (2-4-0, 3.46 GAA, .909 SV) has just one win over his last five starts and he hasn’t played since allowing four goals on 38 shots in a 5-3 loss against Minnesota on October 29.
WSH: Charlie Lindgren (unconfirmed)
Lindgren (3-3-0, 2.70 GAA, .896 SV) was solid in stopping 41 of 44 shots in a 4-2 loss against Carolina on Sunday, but he’s now allowed exactly three goals in three straight games.
Minnesota Wild at Anaheim Ducks
MIN: Filip Gustavsson (likely)
Gustavsson (6-2-1, 2.33 GAA, .917 SV) has solid numbers overall, but he’s trending in the wrong direction. After beginning the season 4-0-1 with a 1.40 GAA and .952 SV in his first five starts, Gustavsson is 2-2-0 with a 3.51 GAA and .869 SV in his last four outings.
ANA: Lukas Dostal (unconfirmed)
Dostal (4-4-2, 2.50 GAA, .930 SV) allowed five goals on 37 shots against Vancouver on Tuesday for his third straight loss, but he’s received virtually no offensive support, with Anaheim managing just four total goals in those three games.
Vegas Golden Knights at Seattle Kraken
VGK: Adin Hill (unconfirmed)
Hill (6-2-0, 3.01 GAA, .882 SV) stopped 27 of 29 shots in a 4-2 win over Edmonton on Wednesday, for the Golden Knights’ first road victory of the year. With backup Ilya Samsonov (undisclosed) out and not on the road trip, Hill should continue to start.
SEA: Joey Daccord (unconfirmed)
Daccord (4-3-1, 2.76 GAA, .915 SV) stopped 31 of 33 shots in a 2-0 loss against the Bruins on Sunday. He’s lost four of his last five outings, but he’s had almost no offensive support, with Seattle scoring one or fewer goals in three of those five games.
