Minnesota Wild Agree to Deal with Goalie Filip Gustavsson
The Minnesota Wild and their top goaltender Filip Gustavsson have signed off on a three-year contract worth $11.25 million. It keeps in the 25-year-old in St. Paul for what should be the prime years of his burgeoning career.

The Swedish native arrived in Minnesota at this time a year ago from the Ottawa Senators. That deal sent Cam Talbot from the Wild to the Ontario-based club.
In 2022-2023, Gustavsson played in 39 games and posted a 22-9-7 win-loss-OT loss record. His goals-against average was a strong 2.10 and his save percentage was equally impressive at .931. Teammate and long-time NHL veteran Marc-Andre Fleury also had a good campaign, albeit not quite as strong (24-16-4, 2.85 GAA).
The deal keeps the fourth-year veteran on a good team that’s ripe with potential but has yet to cash in on its postseason opportunities. Minnesota finished 46-25-11 last season, good for 103 points and third place in the Central Division. They were bounced out of the playoffs by the Dallas Stars in the first round in six games.
