Seattle Kraken
Giving up four consecutive goals is never an ideal way to start a game and that’s exactly what happened to the Kraken in Game 4. They have given up the first goal of the game in three of the four games so far and have had sluggish starts in every game.
Jaden Schwartz scored two goals on three shots and was named the game’s first star. Adam Larsson also scored his first of the postseason cutting the Stars’ lead to 5-3, setting Seattle up for a late push with the net empty.
Jared McCann did not provide the boost to the Kraken lineup that was expected. Their 40-goal scorer made his series debut in Game 4 after missing the past six games with an injury. He played just 13 minutes registering three shots on goal and four penalty minutes.
Seattle will look to get back to what made them successful early in the series, rolling all four lines and controlling the special teams’ matchup. They will have to do without Daniel Sprong who is day-to-day after being knocked out of Game 3 and did not play on Tuesday.
Dallas Stars
The Stars played their best game of the series in Tuesday night’s Game 4 win, bouncing back after a disappointing effort in Game 3. Jamie Benn scored on the powerplay to open the scoring late in the first period. The powerplay would convert again in the second period on Joe Pavelski’s sixth goal of the series. The tally was one of four goals Dallas scored in the second as Thomas Harley, Max Domi and Roope Hintz would join the onslaught.
Domi would add another goal into the empty net to complete a three-point night, giving him seven points (2G 5A) in the series. Hintz’s goal was his first of the series after scoring five in the opening round and Jason Robertson had an assist for his point of the series.
The powerplay seemed to come alive in Game 4 after being shut down for most of the series. Combined with Dallas’ superstars awakening, it looks like the Stars have turned the series in their
