Winnipeg Jets vs. Calgary Flames Prediction, NHL Odds
The Flames snapped a three-game skid beating the Jets 4-2 Saturday night.
Jets vs. Flames 3/29/21 Betting Analysis
The odds are almost even tonight with Calgary as the slight favourite at -119. Sports Interaction customers are placing their money on the Flames as well, and they’re receiving 83 percent of bets. Winnipeg leads the season series 4-3 and are currently nine points ahead of Calgary in the standings. These two won’t face off again until the last week of the regular season.
With a total set at 5.5, 68 percent of the bettors are taking the over. The Jets and Flames played the over in their first matchup but have hit the under in six straight since then. A combination of little offence and solid goaltending makes for low scoring contests; hence why Calgary has played the under five games in a row.
Winnipeg Jets
The loss on Saturday ended the Jets three game winning streak. Backup goalie Laurent Brossoit struggled in the third period giving up a goal 49 seconds in and then scoring on himself late to solidify the win for the Flames. Luckily, the Jets will start reigning Vezina trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck tonight. A bright spot during the loss was 6-foot-7 rookie defenceman Logan Stanley scoring his first NHL goal.
Left winger Kyle Connor has torched the Flames so far this year. The Jets leading goal scorer has potted five and added four assists for nine points in seven games. Winnipeg has been consistent all season long, only losing two in a row twice.
Calgary Flames
The Flames ended a three-game losing streak at home Saturday night, picking up only their second win in their past seven. Andrew Mangiapane tallied the game winner on his 10th of the season and first goal in six games. He is now second on the team in goals and has already scored four on Winnipeg this year. Calgary has struggled to find offence over the past week scoring only eight times in five contests. The Flames top two centers have no goals and only four assists combined in that stretch.
Calgary’s playoff hopes are slowly dying, they are only two points behind the Canadiens for fourth but have played five more games. A win tonight would drag their record back to .500 at 17-17-3.
