The Jets open a three-game road trip in Montreal after rolling to a 5-2 victory over Calgary on Sunday and now sport a four-point lead over second-place Edmonton in the conference standings. The Canadiens are coming off a tough 4-3 overtime loss to New Jersey on Saturday night and will hit the ice on Tuesday looking to avoid posting three straight defeats for the first time since early November.

The Jets arrive in Montreal perched as -155 road favourites on the Tuesday NHL odds. The Canadiens are pegged as betting underdogs for the 12th time in as many games, sporting +130 odds and the total is pegged at 6.0.

Jets vs. Canadiens NHL Betting Odds

Tuesday’s contest marks the second and final regular season meeting between these clubs. The Jets snapped a three-game head-to-head losing streak with a 4-2 victory on home ice back on December 14 but have posted just one victory in six visits to the Bell Centre since 2021.

With the total topping 6.0 just once in six meetings, the UNDER is currently on a 4-1-1 run when these teams face off, with three of their past five dates settled by a goal. However, when the Jets post wins over the Habs, they win big, with their past six head-to-head victories coming by an average margin of 2.67 goals. The Jets have also been filling the net during their current 3-0-0 run, outgunning opponents by a combined 13-6 margin but have struggled at times while losing three of five on the road, surrendering 3.60 goals per game over that span.

The Habs have shown signs of cooling off after storming to 13 wins over a 17-game span that started in mid-December. Montreal has potted just eight total goals over the club’s past three games and has maintained a lead for a grand total of just 135 seconds in four games since being humbled in a 7-3 loss to Toronto on January 18.

Winnipeg Jets

After scoring just five total goals while losing two of three, the Jets attack has rebounded with back-to-back 5-2 wins and 13 total goals during their current 3-0-0 run. Gabe Villardi led the charge in Sunday’s win over Calgary, turning in a season-best four-point performance and has now piled up three goals and three assists during a three-game points streak.

Jets leading scorer Kyle Connor also busted out of a four-game scoring drought on Sunday, scoring once and adding two helpers. However, the Jets have tended to struggle when their top scorer doesn’t produce, losing 10 of their past 12 when Connor fails to crack the scoresheet.

Montreal Canadiens

In the wake of their two recent losses, the Canadiens now enter Tuesday’s action outside the Eastern Conference wild card picture, two points back of Tampa Bay and Columbus. And while the Habs have managed to pick up points in five of their past six home games, they have needed third-period heroics to pull that off. The Canadiens have not held the lead entering the third period in six straight home games and have potted just two total first-period goals in five home games since roaring to a short-lived 3-0 early lead in their recent lopsided loss to the Leafs.

The trio of Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky carried the load in Saturday’s win over the Devils, combining to score two goals and five assists. Caufield potted his 25th goal of the season in that contest, snapping a five-game goalscoring drought while Slafkovsky’s two assists were the first helpers he has contributed over an eight-game span during which he has scored just three times.
