Jets’ Pierre-Luc Dubois Could Head to Kings Instead of Canadiens
After so much talk about Pierre-Luc Dubois heading back to his hometown province of Quebec to play for the Montreal Canadiens, it looks like the Los Angeles Kings are now the front-running candidate.

Kings in Line to Get Dubois
Despite what has been months of rumours and insider info about the Jets forward adorning a Habs jersey next season, what information has trickled out in recent days suggests that the Los Angeles Kings are in a better position to woo him.
L.A. is making moves to get Pierre-Luc Dubois, as Murat Ates of The Athletic tweeted on Sunday.
“I’m hearing Los Angeles and Pierre-Luc Dubois are talking contract extension. Between that and the pieces of the trade, plenty to work out, but I’m getting the sense things are well on their way.”
This would be great news for L.A., who already have a playoff-ready club. Should the trade go through, it is said that Alex Iafallo and Gabe Vilardi would be pieces heading north to Manitoba.
Conversely, this would be a bad mark for the Montreal Canadiens, who are not out of the running completely, it should be noted. Not only are they surely keen on acquiring a solid player from that province – something that doesn’t happen anymore these days – but the club needs all the scoring help it can get. Montreal ranked 26th in goals scored per game in 2022-2023, netting only 2.77. Dubois would be an interesting player to have to help out Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.
Things got really interesting last week when Dubois was in Montreal to attend a midweek MLS game between CF Montreal and Nashville SC. Now all the hype has taken a major plot twist.
