It’s East vs. West on Tuesday night as the Florida Panthers have a chance to take over top spot in the Atlantic Division with a win over the visiting Calgary Flames. The Panthers downed Montreal 5-2 at home on Saturday, while Calgary took out Chicago 5-1 on the road on Sunday.

Matthew Tkachuk scored for the third straight game on Sunday, while Johnny Gaudreau had a goal and two assists. Elias Lindholm, Trevor Lewis and Oliver Kylington also found the back of the net for the Flames. Jacob Markstrom made 30 saves in the win and is expected to get the start again on Tuesday. The 31-year-old Swede is 12-6-5 this season with a 1.99 goals-against average and .930 save percentage. He leads the league with five shutouts.
Calgary has scored 11 goals over the last two games, with Gaudreau picking up three goals and three assists in the two wins. Johnny Hockey is eighth in league scoring with 36 points (13G, 23A). Tkachuk (14G, 14A) and Lindholm (12G, 16A) are also having big years with 28 points each, while Andrew Mangiapane leads the team with 18 goals, but has just three assists.
Florida Panthers
Sam Bennett’s two-goal effort was the difference as Florida rolled to their third straight win on Saturday. Aleksander Barkov, Frank Vatrano and Mason Marchment also scored for the Panthers, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves. Jonathan Huberdeau had three assists. Florida has the second-best offence in the NHL this season, averaging 3.78 goals per game and they’re a perfect 14-0 overall when leading after two periods. Huberdeau is fourth in NHL scoring with 41 points (11G, 30A). Barkov and Anthony Duclair are tied for the team-lead in goals with 12 apiece.
Bobrovsky is expected to get the start in net against Calgary. The former Vezina Trophy winner is having a bounce-back season, posting a 14-3-2 record with a 2.47 GAA and .918 SV. Bennett will be out of the lineup on Tuesday as he serves the first of a three-game suspension he received for an illegal check to the head Montreal forward Cedric Paquette, although he wasn’t penalized during the game.
