Titans vs. Bills Point Spread: NFL Week 2 Odds, Prediction
The Bills are 10-point favorites on the NFL odds with a total of 49.5 points.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Both Buffalo and Tennessee were division winners last season, but they didn’t meet in the playoffs as the Titans lost at home in the divisional round to Cincinnati and the Bills lost in that round at Kansas City. I fully expect Buffalo to repeat in the AFC East this year but not nearly as sure about Tennessee in the AFC South, although it’s a pretty weak division.
The teams did play Week 6 of the 2021 regular season on a Monday night in Nashville, and the Titans won 34-31 in a great game. The Bills could have tried a very short field goal in the final seconds to likely tie and send to overtime but instead went for the win on fourth down from the Tennessee 3. Quarterback Josh Allen was stopped short of a first down. Allen threw for 353 yards and three scores. The Titans got 143 yards and three touchdowns rushing from Derrick Henry. Ryan Tannehill threw for 216 yards with a pick and had a rushing TD.
The underdog is 10-1 against the spread in the past 11 meetings.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans were upset at home in Week 1 by the New York Giants 21-20 as they rallied from a 13-0 third-quarter deficit. Daniel Jones hit Chris Myarick on a 1-yard TD pass with 1:06 left to make it 20-19 and the Giants opted to go for a two-point conversion and the win, and Jones converted on a pass to Saquon Barkley. Titans kicker Randy Bullock pushed a 47-yard field goal wide left in the final seconds after making two field goals earlier against one of his former teams. Tennessee star running back Derrick Henry had 82 yards on the ground. Offseason acquisitions Robert Woods (receiver) and Austin Hooper (tight end) each had just one catch. Defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand injured his quad in the loss and will miss the season. The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their past five following a loss.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills are +330 favourites to win their first Super Bowl and they looked the part in the Thursday night Kickoff Game at the defending Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 with a 31-10 victory, shutting out LA in the second half. Buffalo QB Josh Allen is the +315 favourite for league MVP and threw for 297 yards and three scores and rushed for 56 and a touchdown. It was Allen’s seventh career game with three pass TDs and a rush TD, third-most in NFL history behind Drew Brees (nine) and Tom Brady (eight). Stefon Diggs caught eight passes for 122 yards and a TD. The offence converted nine of 10 third-down situations (90%), tied for the best third-down conversion rate in a single game over the last decade. On defence, new addition linebacker Von Miller had two sacks. This will be the fifth straight season the Bills and Titans play, and they’ve each won two. Buffalo is 3-0-1 ATS in its past four at home.
