NFL Odds: Here’s how much you could have won live betting the Bills over the Ravens
The first Sunday Night Football game of the season was hyped as a potential AFC championship preview, with the Buffalo Bills hosting the Baltimore Ravens. And boy did the game deliver.
In one of the biggest comebacks in recent NFL history, the Bills rallied from a 40-25 deficit with 4:48 remaining in the fourth quarter to win 41-40.

Ravens vs. Bills
Baltimore entered the game as a 1.5-point favourite, which actually snapped a 34-game streak for the Bills being listed as a home favourite in the regular season. It was the longest active streak in the NFL.
The Ravens’ collapse, however, was historic. To put it in perspective, teams that led by 15 or more points in the final four minutes of a game had a record of 2,312-3 (.998) since 2000. When Baltimore led 40-25, their implied probability to win was 99.1 per cent.
At the time of the Ravens’ 15-point fourth quarter lead, the Bills were listed as high as +4000 to win the game. That means if you had live bet Buffalo, a $10 wager would have returned $400 in profit and a $50 wager would have brought back $2,000.
Thanks to a Derrick Henry fumble and some questionable decision making by John Harbaugh, the Bills were able to rip off 16 points and win the game.
Futures market
Going beyond live betting, the futures market also shifted because of the Ravens-Bills game.
Entering Week 1, Buffalo, Baltimore and Philadelphia were co-favourites to win the Super Bowl at +700 each. Following the epic comeback, the Bills are now sole favourites to win the Super Bowl at +600, followed by the Ravens (+650) and the Eagles (+700).
The MVP odds were also affected because of the Sunday Nighter. Lamar Jackson entered the game as +450 favourite to win MVP, while Josh Allen and Joe Burrow were tied for the second-shortest odds at +600. As of Tuesday, Allen is a +310 MVP favourite, followed by Jackson (+550) and Burrow (+750).
