Kansas Jayhawks NCAAB Tournament Preview 2008
Will Kansas up their game and blow NCAAB Betting into mayhem this March?
The Kansas Jayhawks are hoping 2008 is the year that they make the leap. Kansas entered the season as the two-time defending Big 12 Tournament champions. With four starters returning from 2007, the Jayhawks were voted to three-peat in a pre-season poll of Big 12 coaches. Their continued success and home court dominance have made the Jayhawks weekly college basketball betting favourites.
Kansas’ defense has been stellar in 2008. Darrell Arthur and Sasha Kaun have been amongst the league leaders in blocked shots, while Mario Chalmers and Russell Robinson have consistently been at or near the top in steals. Solid team defense has been the centre of Kansas success over the last couple seasons.
Kansas weakness in 2008 has been inconsistent offense against good teams. While they have had no problem destroying inferior opponents, you do not know what you are going to get from the offense when faced up against a decent side. They might shoot the lights out, struggle to an overtime victory, or just lose outright. We have seen it all this season.
If Kansas is going to take the next step this year and get to the Final Four or beyond, they are going to have to get over this. Once they are through the first couple rounds, every opponent will be formidable.
The Jayhawks are an experienced team with all the tools to make a run for the title. Its just a matter of them making sure they are all working at the right time.
