Warriors vs. Raptors Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Raptors are favoured on the NBA odds.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Golden State’s season and perhaps any realistic chance of contending for another NBA title soon basically ended on Nov. 18, 2020. That was the day of the NBA Draft. While Golden State got a potentially very good player with the No. 2 overall pick in Memphis centre James Wiseman, earlier that day former All-Star guard Klay Thompson suffered a season-ending torn Achilles’ tendon.
Thompson also missed the entire 2019-20 season with a torn ACL suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals vs. Toronto. It’s impossible to know if Thompson will ever be the same player again. Two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry is putting up MVP-calibre numbers again, although he won’t win the award this season, and Toronto native Andrew Wiggins is having a nice season. However, Golden State may not even make the playoffs.
The Warriors look for the season sweep as they beat the Raptors 106-105 in San Francisco on Jan. 10. Damion Lee converted the tying and go-ahead free throws with 3.3 seconds left. He doesn’t even play that much most games. Curry had one of the worst games of his career in shooting 2-for-16 for 11 points. Wiggins had 17. Pascal Siakam led Toronto with 25.
Toronto is 3-7 in the past 10 regular season meetings but 5-4-1 against the spread.
Golden State Warriors
The Dubs lost for the fifth time in six games Thursday, 116-109 in Miami. Steph Curry had 36 points and 11 rebounds, but went down hard on his tailbone after taking a charge and clearly was in pain. He had recently missed a handful of games with an injured tailbone, so this writer believes Curry may sit this one out (spread would rise a few points) and will predict the game score a such. Draymond Green had 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, but he also appeared to suffer an injury – although it doesn’t seem likely it would keep him out Friday.
In addition to Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors have Canadian Mychal Mulder on the roster. He rarely plays, however. Golden State is 0-5 ATS in its past five as a dog.
Toronto Raptors
We don’t want to make 100 per cent declarations, but it sure looked as if the Raptors’ playoff hopes officially died Wednesday when the Dinos were upset 113-103 at an extremely short-handed Oklahoma City team that an anonymous starting five. Toronto was outscored by 12 in the fourth quarter and was dominated on the boards overall, 64-35. Gary Trent Jr. scored a career-high 31 points, and OG Anunoby added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors, who have dropped 13 of their last 14.
Kyle Lowry sat out with a right foot infection, and he’s going to miss at least another week. Trade acquisition Rodney Hood was out with a hip injury and also is expected to miss multiple more games. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their past five Friday games.
