Have the Golden State Warriors lost that loving feeling? The two-time defending NBA champions try to shake off hurt feelings and snap a three-game ATS losing streak when they travel to Texas to play the suddenly hot Dallas Mavericks.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
G-State hasn’t been golden in the eyes of its backers over the past few games. The Warriors are just 2-3 straight up and 1-4 against the spread over their last five games. The Dubs are coming off a 107-86 drubbing at the hands of James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Thursday evening.
The 86-point total is the fewest points the Warriors have scored in a game all season. The club is still averaging 118.6 points per game and the Over is 8-8 in their 16 contests.
The Mavericks are coming off a 50-point win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. It was just the third time in franchise history they’d bested another NBA club by 50 or more points. Dallas enters Saturday’s game riding a three-game winning streak and the squad is 6-2 against the number over the last eight games.
The Warriors are 10-0 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against the Mavericks and the Over cashed in seven of those 10 meetings.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State is dealing with some interfighting between All-Stars Draymond Green and Kevin Durant. The dispute stems from a late game situation against the Los Angeles Clippers last weekend when Green didn’t pass the ball to Durant in the closing seconds of regulation.
Durant questioned Green’s decision on the bench before the start of overtime and Draymond, never one shy to share his opinion, bit back. The Warriors suspended Green for one game for conduct detrimental to the team and all parties are trying to put the incident behind them.
Locker room turmoil isn’t the only thing impacting Golden State on the court these days. Stephen Curry has missed the last four games and isn’t expected to return until the end of the month because of a groin injury.
The two-time NBA MVP is leading the league in scoring with 29.5 points per game and he’s shooting 49.2 percent from 3-point land on 11 attempts a night.
Dallas Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki is no longer the big name in Big D. Rookie sensation Luka Doncic is living up to all the hype that surrounded the 2018 EuroLeague MVP and is leading the Mavs in scoring at 19.1 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding (6.4) and assists (4.2).
Doncic is questionable to play on Saturday because sore shoulder. If he can’t play, expect former Warrior Harrison Barnes to be the focal point of the Dallas offence.
