The two-time Finals MVP is rumoured to be interested in joining the New York Knicks when his contract expires with the Warriors this summer.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Golden State opened as a 12-point road favourite for Friday’s matchup at the Garden. The Warriors are 9-1 straight up but just 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 games against the Knicks.

The Dubs are coming off a 144-122 victory against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. The result pushed G-State to 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS on the season. Friday’s game against the Knicks is the first of a three-game road trip for the Warriors.

New York hasn’t won since its season opener against the Hawks but the club is making bettors in the Big Apple very happy. The Knicks are 3-1-1 ATS after their first five games – a mark only bested by the New Orleans Pelicans (3-0 ATS) and Denver Nuggets (4-0) so far this season.

In the epic words of Knicks head coach David Fizdale, take that for data.

Golden State Warriors

There are enough whispers about Kevin Durant possibly leaving the Warriors this coming offseason for New York basketball fans to rightfully get their hopes up. Expect a warm reception for KD at MSG.

Durant wasn’t the Warrior creating headlines on Wednesday. That honour belongs to two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry following his 51-point performance against the Wizards. Curry’s 34.6 point per game average trails only Blake Griffin for the league lead in scoring.

Klay Thompson is the player in the Dubs’ attack that needs to heat up. The All-Star two-guard is shooting just 14.8 percent from beyond the arc this season. He’s a career .420 shooter from 3-point land and he scored 26 points on 9-for-13 shooting in his last visit to the Garden.

New York Knicks

Fizdale doesn’t have much pressure in his first year as head coach in Gotham City. The Knicks have low expectations this season with franchise big man Kristaps Porzingis expected to sit out until March while he recovers from a torn ACL.

That means more shots for Tim Hardaway Jr. The fifth-year pro out of Michigan is averaging 24.4 points and 20.2 shots per game.
