Warriors vs. Hawks Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
Even with their superstar back, the Warriors lost 111-102 at the Detroit Pistons. That now marks their eighth loss in their last 13 games. The Warriors, who lost only 24 games all of last season have already lost nine of their first 24 this year. A meeting with the hapless Atlanta Hawks should help them get back on track, though.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Warriors have been lousy against the spread, going 10-14 ATS overall and 3-8 ATS in road games. Of course, a lot of their early season struggles have to do with injuries, though.
As for the Hawks, they’ve been pathetic in their own right. They are 5-18 overall and 9-14 ATS in those games. They are also 3-7 ATS at home and 9-13 ATS as a dog.
Golden State Warriors
There’s not a lot to like about the Warriors right now as they’ve lost two in a row heading into Monday’s game. They did get Curry back in the lineup on Saturday night but that didn’t cure all of their woes. Remember, they are still without Draymond Green, who will miss the rest of this road trip and DeMarcus Cousins, who has been out all season. Cousins is expected to practice this week and is getting close to returning.
The Warriors just look out of sync on offence, which is understandable to an extent. They do have the chemistry issue with Durant and Green, and losing Curry has thrown the offence for a loop. They are averaging just 96.7 points per game over their last nine outings, which is shockingly low. The good news is the Hawks are dead last in the NBA in points per game allowed, so this should be a “get well” game for Golden State.
If the Warriors were playing better, they’d be laying a bigger number here (probably -14 or -15). As it stands now, they need to win by 11.
Atlanta Hawks
There aren’t many positive things one can say about the Hawks these days. We’re talking about a team that’s 5-18 on the year and has lost 16 of their last 19. They are 2-2 in their last four, though, as they beat Charlotte (at home) and Miami (on the road), but they won those two contests by a combined three points. Both of those teams are under .500.
The Hawks defence has been nightmarish this season. They’re allowing 118.7 points per game over their last nine contests. They lost by seven at Golden State on November 13th in a game where Golden State played without Curry and shot 42.9% from the field. Their prospects on Monday don’t look so good.
