Hometown hero and Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Andrew Wiggins returns to Toronto with a history of wrecking the Raptors. Toronto hopes to avoid being swept by the up-and-coming Western Conference club when they host Minnesota on Tuesday.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Raptors enter Tuesday’s tilt coming off a 123-111 win and cover against the Los Angeles Lakers at the ACC on Sunday. The victory improves Toronto’s season record to 33-15 straight up and 26-22 against the spread. Toronto is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games against Western Conference opponents and 2-5 ATS in its last seven games overall.

Minnesota is coming off a 105-100 loss to the Hawks on Monday night in Atlanta. The T-Wolves are 15-8 SU and 13-10 ATS in their last 23 games and 33-21 SU and 25-26-2 ATS on the season. The Wolves beat the Raptors 115-109 as 1.5-point home underdogs earlier this month without All-Star Jimmy Butler in the lineup. Minnesota is 4-1 ATS in its last five games against the Dinos.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Andrew Wiggins is struggling to live up to expectations of being the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and once labelled the best prospect since LeBron James. He’s got the athleticism and the shooting touch but many question his dedication to the craft.

There’s no question Wiggins brings his best for two teams: The Cleveland Cavaliers who drafted him and then traded him before he ever played his first game in the league and, of course, his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors. Wiggins averages 25.3 points in seven career games against the Raptors including earlier his month when he tallied 29 points.

Toronto Raptors

DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry will be representing the Raptors in the NBA All-Star Game for a third consecutive year, but the Dinos are proving to be much more than two-man team. Toronto is 10th in the league in bench scoring at 39.3 points per game and owns the third-best net rating for its reserves at +6.2. The club’s bench mob put up a big showing against the Lakers on Sunday with Fred VanVleet leading the way with 25 points in just a little over 20 minutes of action.
