Thunder vs. Warriors Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The story is normally all about Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook when the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder meet on the court. But a lingering slump paired with the absence of Stephen Curry and a squabble between Durant and Draymond Green has the rest of the NBA wondering if the Dubs dynasty is done.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Thunder haven’t had great luck against the Warriors since KD went to Golden State. OKC is just 2-7 straight up and 3-6 against the spread over the last two seasons. The Thunder are coming off a 117-113 loss at Sacramento on Monday night.
It was just their second ATS loss in their last 11 games after an ugly 0-4 SU start to the campaign. The Under is 11-1 in the last 12 meetings between the Warriors and Thunder.
Golden State dropped to 0-5 ATS and 1-4 SU following a 12-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. After averaging nearly 120 point per game for the first three weeks of the season, the Warriors have been held to 92 or fewer points in two of their last three contests. The Under is 6-3 in their last nine games.
Oddsmakers have adjusted to the Dubs’ drop in play. Two weeks ago, the club was regular facing double-digit spreads. Golden State was a 3-point road underdog against San Antonio and now the team is just 1-point home chalk with the possibility it could close as an underdog.
The Warriors have caught points on their home court since they closed as 8-point dogs at the Oracle last March against the Indiana Pacers. Of course, none of Golden State’s four All-Star players suited up for that game.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Kings spoiled Westbrook’s return to the Thunder lineup. The 2017 NBA MVP missed six games because of sprained ankle. The Thunder are a different team with Westbrook running the show. OKC averages 109.08 possessions per 48 minutes with their starting point guard on the floor and just 101.26 without him.
The betting numbers reflect the same thing. The Under is 6-2 in games without Westbrook playing and 2-6 when he is in the lineup this season.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors aren’t so mighty without Stephen Curry. The club dropped to 22-22 straight up in games without Curry since the start of the 2014-15 campaign. The record with a healthy and able Curry over the same five year period? 254-47.
Curry will be out again on Wednesday night because of a lingering groin injury. Draymond Green is questionable to play as well because of sore toe.
