L.A. stumbled out of the gate, dropping their first two games of the season, but they’ve since gone 5-1 and look like they’ve figured things out.  The Thunder, on the other hand, have looked terrible this season, although their only win of the year actually came against the Lakers last week.

The Lakers are heavy 13.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 216.5.

Thunder vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

These teams met in Oklahoma City last week, with the Thunder pulling out a 123-115 upset win.  Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 27 points for OKC in the winning effort, while Anthony Davis dropped 30 for L.A.  The Lakers had won three straight games in the head-to-head prior to last week.  Seven of the last eight games between these teams have hit the Over.

It’s been a rough start to the year for the Thunder, who come into this game with an 0-4 road record.  Dating back to last season, OKC has lost eight straight road games.  They’re 3-4 against the spread this year and have covered in four of their last five games against L.A.  The total has gone Under in five of the Thunder’s seven games.

The Lakers have looked good at home this year, where they’ve won four of six games.  Covering has been a different story, though.  L.A. is 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games and they’ve failed to cover five straight home games against the Thunder.  They’re 2-6 ATS for the season.  The total has gone Over in five of eight games for the Lakers.

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC ends their three-game road trip against the Lakers after failing to break 100 points in losses to the Warriors and Clippers.  The defence stepped up against the Clippers, holding L.A.’s other team to double digit points in the 99-94 loss, but the offence continues to let the Thunder down.  Gilgeous-Alexander has been the lone offensive bright spot.  He finished with 28 points, seven rebounds and two assists against his former Clippers team.  Gilgeous-Alexander has carried the offence this year, putting up a team-high 22.9 points per game.  Lu Dort has the next highest average at just 11.7 ppg.  Dort is questionable against the Lakers as he deals with a shoulder injury.  Gabriel Deck is also questionable with a heel injury.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are looking to extend their win streak to four games after picking up home dubs once against the Cavaliers and twice against the Rockets.  They had a comfortable 10-point win in the first Houston game, but seemed to have trouble in Tuesday’s 119-117 win.  LeBron James finished with a double-double on Tuesday, recording a game-high 30 points and 10 assists.  Davis and Russell Westbrook each had 27 points and nine rebounds.  Davis is averaging a team highs in points (25.0), rebounds (11.1) and blocks (2.4).  James is right behind Davis with 24.8 ppg and leads the team with 2.3 steals.  Dwight Howard, who has missed the last two games with a neck injury, is questionable on Thursday.
